I need some help finding a cleaner that will remove pet urine stains. I thought our younger dog was doing good with holding during the day but I have noticed with the weather warming up our house smells like pee and I'm going to try and clean everything up. My pregnant nose just can't handle smelling piss all the time. I just bought a little black light on Amazon to try and find all the stains. I have been using white vinegar but DH absolutely hates the smell. In the meantime we have been gaiting our dogs in the kitchen so clean ups are easier. It's clean almost every day so I know that she either hasn't peed too much around the house or hard wood just isn't as much fun to pee on as carpet. I'm hoping that since I'm feeling better and can get back into morning/evening walks that she will relearn that doggies pee outside. For all you pet owners have you found anything that works well?
I use Nature's Miracle. They have a whole line of products. I keep the spray bottle (advanced formula) on hand for small messes, and I have the deep clean carpet cleaner that I use for bigger messes with a handheld steam cleaner. It's the only thing I've found that gets rid of the smell and stain for good. Found in all pet stores and on Amazon.
ETA: If you're worried about past stains still hanging around, I would try a heavy duty carpet cleaner to try to lift it all out (whether NM or another brand). I should also warn you that Nature's Miracle does have a particular smell. It doesn't bother me at all, and it goes away fairly quickly, but you might want to test out the small spray version before going around and doing your whole house in case your nose is super sensitive to it.
We have the spotbot and it works great on fresh messes. My dog is a walking pee-er so it's not as great for long zig zagging lines.
That's why I decided against the SpotBot, it has to be stationary. I like the LG because it has a hose and you can just tote it around from spot to spot.

We actually just shampooed the carpets to put our house on the market and I was dreading having to replace our potty training carpet in our room. We ended up renting a Big Green Bissel from Lowes and along with their pet cleaner it got everything out of our very light tan carpet. Some of the stains had been there since the beginning of the year and still everything came out.
There is a product called Urine Away that works wonders. If you don't have luck with Nature's Miracle, I would highly recommend getting it (Amazon, some vets sell it). It works on a molecular level to eliminate the urine/odor rather than mask the smell.
When we moved into our current house I tried everything to get the pet urine smell out of the carpet. Only thing that worked for older stains was hiring a professional cleaner to steam the carpets. Best $$ we spent moving into the house. Also, we have a green machine to clean up newer messes when they happen which works great.
