How do you do it? I worked throughout my last pregnancy and my daughter was in daycare so I still went to appointments alone. This go round I stay at home and have 2. They are probably going to have to go all of the appointments with me. My 6 year old will just hang out. I am more worried about the baby. He is into everything, I always wear him when we are out cause he hates his stroller.
For me it will probably depend on the appt. I won't take him to the first one because pap. My dr runs on time and as long as I wheel him in in his stroller so he is contained. I do work part time and have daycare. Also, my H works from home and has a flexible schedule, so I am fortunate that if it is not convenient to take him I have options.
I have my first u/s tomorrow, and I am wondering what to do too. Mostly its because we haven't told the kids, and I am not ready for them to know. My current plan is ipod or iphone and asking my doc to speak in code words

I just had my first appointment on Tuesday and my dad watched my girls. (3 1/2 and 2).. do you have any family or friends who could watch your kids? Even just the baby. I try to schedule my appointments around my parents' work schedules so I can go alone.
I've been worrying about this as well! I have two kids and I work from home, so no daycare option. I also don't have family close by to watch them. I'm thinking I could bring the youngest with me and try to keep him in the stroller, as long as I bring plenty of snacks! I'm still figuring out what to do with my oldest since we aren't sharing the news with him just yet, and I know he will ask questions if he comes to the appointment.
Do you think your little one would sit in the stroller if you gave him some new toys, books, or snacks to distract him for a bit?
When I was pregnant with my second, my oldest was in preschool two days a week, so I tried to get appointments when he was at school. I think I had to take him along to one of them, and he did well.
I have no idea what I'm going to do now. My youngest is only 18 months. My husband has always gone with me to my appointments, so we'll either take her or I'll get early appointments so he can stay with her while I'm gone and then he can go to work afterward. Luckily, he has flexibility in when he goes in and/or he can work from home.
This worries me as well. I have a 16 month old who CANNOT be still. I took him to my pap appointment in May because my H works and I know nobody within 2 hours of me haha. It's so inconvenient. At my ultrasound appointment in a few weeks my H will be there so he can wrangle our son. But that will be it until my anatomy scan

I didn't even think about this until you posted this thread. Uhh...the early ones will be hard because I have an incredibly active 1yr old and no family anywhere close to me to watch him. Guess it's a good thing I'm waiting until after 8 weeks so we can tell someone who can watch him :/
DH said I should just turn down the pap and roll with it, but it's more than just that!

My daughter will come with me to all my regular OB appointments (I'm a stay at home mom). My OB/GYN is actually her peds doc so they welcome kids and have tons of toys in the rooms, plus the nurses will take her if need be. With the RE appointments, my parents are watching her. And with ultrasounds, my husband always comes so he will hold on her. She's a patient kid who will be interested in everything around her so it's not a big worry for me.
