Okay ladies, let's talk baths. When can I tub bathe this baby? His umbilical cord stump fell off a few days ago and his circumcision looks all healed. What do the emus think?
I think it's probably fine too. Out of curiosity though, was his UC bloody at all? S' fell off this afternoon, but it bled a little. I'm thinking it wasn't quite ready yet, even though dh and I were both completely hands off of it. I'm not sure how it happened.
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!

A little bit of blood is perfectly fine as long as it doesn't ooze puss or anything like that it should be ok
Should I wait a little while until giving him a full bath do you think? I don't remember my other kids' bleeding at all. His circ is almost healed too, so I'll be at least waiting for that.

No blood though it's a little crusty in there. Starting to smell. I had no idea how to know if his tiny penis was healed so I made H decide. But the kid did have b his first bath tonight. We survived!

S got the plastibel so it'll be really obvious when it's healed, because it falls off. DH and I were afraid of it at first, but the doc assured us it's not any worse and bleeds less. So far it hasn't really seemed to bother him either. That's all I cared about.

H is peacefully sleeping while I'm trying to calm the baby down. I'm about .14 seconds away from hitting him in the head with a bat.
We won't tell!
I've stopped waking dh up when S wakes up at night, so that he'll take on the early morning routine with the older kids before school. It buys me about 45 minutes, because I still have to get up to do dd1's hair, which I think is worth it. But when he complains he's tired... Woah no buddy!! I don't think so!

Yay! so glad things are going better for you as well. Why do you have to dump milk down the drain?
Because it's gone bad (ie, been out too long without being used). Usually we get a bottle out for one overnight feeding and I've just used my boobs. We don't end up using it within 6 hours but I'm too tired to remember to put away.
Gotcha. That's frustrating, but makes sense too. Would you want to get a little cooler or something to keep nearby to just pop it into? Or are you trying to leave it out to stay warm for feelings?

Honestly we are just lazy. I think a coolee is a great idea and of course I hadn't thought of it. I'll have to get ours ready tomorrow...

I agree... Did your pump come with a little cooler and ice pack? You can always use that ice pack for a few additional hours.
I hate the 6 hour rule. I constantly count the hours instead of putting the milk away as soon as I wake up, and run up to my bedroom to get the milk into the freezer before the 6 hour mark. It's like race against the clock!
