Hi - I am a STM, and I'll be traveling without DS2 for 3 days this month and a week in August. Mexico and Italy. He'll be 6 and 7 months, and I'm not ready to wean, so I guess I'll take my pump with me. I have a Medela PISA from the U.S. I'll do some googling too, but I'm interested in any advice. I think I may need some kind of power cord or converter, or maybe I'll try the hand pump (but that was really hard for me when I did it before). Also I have supply issues, and I'm nervous that I'm not going to be able to pump often enough, and my supply will drop. Can you pump on an airplane? Hand pump in the bathroom? I don't know if the hotels will have a fridge/freezer, but I guess I can request one, or maybe pump and dump, although that would make me sad. TIA for your help!
Yeah I agree you should bring a power converter; I wouldn't solely rely on a hamp pump. I'm pretty sure you can pump on an airplane although I've never been on a flight long enough to have to. Most hotels should have a fridge but they may not have a freezer. In the US I would give pumped milk to the front desk to put in the freezer for me; I suppose you could do the same if necessary. I imagine keeping milk on ice would be too much of an endeavor. Good luck!
