Wow! What autoimmune disease makes you that thirsty or requires you to drink that much? Just tell me to shut up if you're not comfortable answering. I have Graves and since treatment I've been thirstier but not that thirsty! I think I'd drown.

I have a camalbak water bottle that I think is 25 oz. I bring it everywhere. I tend to refill more workdays. My typical work day is to drink two bottles plus my coffee before lunch, one with lunch and 1-2 before I go home. I usually have a glass of water with dinner too. So at least 120 oz a day.

That's really not that much.
Correct, 150oz is not much, that is my standard. some days are more, some days are less. I have RA, and chronic thirst is one of my symptoms.

I'm not sure how accurate the drink half your body weight thing is (suggested by my doctor) but that's well over my entire body weight. I feel like I would never leave the bathroom. Or eat because I'm already really full all of the time and I drink half that a day but don't eat a lot. I'm sure it's not a lot for some people, especially those that are more active than myself. I tend to drink a lot more if I'm exercising. Thanks for answering!

If you don't trust your doctor, why are you seeing that doctor?
And yes, your body weight in kilos is the number of ounces you need at a minimum. That number goes up with exercise, meds, medical conditions, weather, and so on. Saying that doesn't apply to you is right up there with saying that BMR being the bare minimum of calories needed daily for you to function properly doesn't apply to you because you are a speshul snowflake.

I drink about 2-3 liters of water a day plus a 20oz mug of tea. I don't know how some people don't drink a lot of water. I am constantly thirsty even after I drink all of that.

I actually don't see that doctor anymore. It was an endocrinologist that based everything strictly off of TSH and not my symptoms or how I felt at all. He also refused to check my Free T3/T4 levels. Aside from that I don't automatically agree with and do everything a doctor says just because they're a doctor. If I'm concerned enough I look it up and do my own research. This didn't concern me THAT much... I drink until I'm not thirsty which just so happens to be around half my body weight most of the time. Since I've been trying to lose weight I gained from quickly going hypo after having my thyroid radiated I've been making a conscious effort to drink more than I used to and feel better overall. And I do have my moments of being a speshul snowflake.
You need to drink half your body weight in oz. everyday. Anything not carbonated or alcoholic counts as water. So your coffee, oj and tea counts!
Drink through a straw and get a big 32 oz tumbler. You have to get used to it. 5 years ago if I was told I'd be craving water over anything flavored, I'd call them crazy. But I love water and can go days without anything but water and my morning cup of coffee.
What about carbonated water? I drink a Polar with lunch every day.
Hmm I'm not sure? I know things like coke don't count because combine the sugar and carbonation and it's not really hydrating.

I usually drink about 1L of water a day as well as some juice or milk. I found it helpful to bring my water bottle to work (I'm a cashier) and leave it at my till. Then I make it my goal to finish it all before I go home. Now drinking water at work is just second nature. The bottle I use is glass and sometimes customers ask if it's vodka in there. I've saying "you know it" but what I want to say is "Yeah, how else would I deal with idiots like you?"
