Those of you who have a Doppler, would you recommend a certain brand? I have a five week wait between my first and second appointment and I would really like some reassurance before then.
When do I get to cash in on my hair and nails getting great?
Don't loose hope! My hair and nails (while typically stronger than average) are starting to feel thicker and stronger again. 11w4d. Which diminished 3-4m postpartum + some crazy fall out that wasn't permanent. But it's swell while it lasts.
I briefly looked yesterday and couldn't find a maternity winter coat. All Motherhood had was lightweight fall jackets that would be a joke here in Michigan it might just be too early and they're not carrying them yet though.
I've been thinking about getting a Doppler but I'm really hoping that I'll be able to feel baby move shortly, like within the next couple of weeks being a STM. I do want a Doppler and know it's only $45 but then I'm like...I'll only use it for a couple of weeks really and that's it...IF I feel baby sooner rather than later. I'm still deciding! I should've kept the one I had with DD.

ang32, I know people who used a doppler well into their 3rd tri on days they didn't feel any movement. I figure I can always sell it when I'm done and get some of my money back.

Yeah, that's also what I'm telling myself. DD was a mover so I rarely had to pull it out with her after a certain point. But this baby may not be as much so I should just buy it. And you're right about getting the money back...I sold mine for $60 with DD. Bought for $50.

For real?! How? Did someone not know how to Amazon? That's great for you but confusing to me.

Today is the only day this week I didn't have to wake up before 5:30, but I was up at 6 anyways (and 2, and 4..) I thought I was getting a break from the pregnancy insomnia, just in time for beginning-of-the-school-year insomnia to kick in. SO MUCH TO DO!
Not quite that far north we're below the bridge, but also planning a UP trip later this summer. My husband wants to go to the Keweenaw peninsula.
Does UP have stuff to do? DH and I were thinking of going there for a week vacation this summer, but got nervous it would be boring/too small. Would it be a better long weekend trip? Is it pretty in the fall?

I dunno to be honest! It was on EBay and was a bid! I did have to pay for shipping so I'm sure it evened out to around $50.

I've never been past St. Ignace, but my husband used to go as a kid a lot and loved it. We started planning earlier this summer. We're going to go to tahquamenon falls and the pictured rocks, then on to the Keweenaw to do some kayaking, and then on the way back there's some ghost towns we want to stop at. Lots of breweries along the way too for the non-pregnant members of your party. We're planning on doing it all over a long weekend. It's just going to be lots and lots of driving between destinations unfortunately. I bet it would be pretty in the fall but it's significantly colder up there than in the lower peninsula so we planned for August.

Even during my second pregnancy, I didn't feel the baby move until about 16 weeks.

I didn't feel first my first one move till I took the GD test and then it took another week or two till I stared regularly feeling him which was when he was kicking me down low.

I know this is more typical. I have NO idea why I'd think I'd feel bubs moving before then.
With that being said, I just ordered a Sonoline Doppler.
My doppler came! However, all I seem to be able to find is what I assume is my own heart beat. Lovely. Off to try again.......
I couldn't find the heartbeat today after finding it two days ago. Try not to worry. The heart is still pretty small at this point and the baby has lots of places to hide.
