I have been in the process of trying to live healthier this fall/winter and part of that has included using MyFitnessPal. I just adjusted the calories to "maintain weight" and it jumped to a daily calorie goal of 2400/day. Now, in third tri with my DD, that's what the nutritionist told me to have as an intake goal...but that seems a bit excessive now.
Any insights? I am considering ask my OB if she will recommend a nutritionist now so I can get a plan in place. Mostly so I can do what I can to avoid gestational diabetes like I had with DD.

I use my MyFitnessPal to record my workouts, but I don't count my calories on it, so I can't really help. I forget how far along you are? I would ask my doc for a calorie recommendation and follow that. However, I also think if you focus on making healthy food choices you might not need to worry about specific calorie counts.

Just 4 weeks. I think you are right. I've been so conscious about every calorie in the past few months, just focusing on healthy foods will be a good change of pace.

I agree with meg that asking your doctor for a calorie guide is a good idea. I had the opposite happen with MFP that is gave me a calorie guideline that I think was too low (1540, I think?) especially now in third tri. So I still use it to "track" most days but I follow the guidelines given to me by my MW instead of MFP

I can tell you that I don't need anything like 2000 calories per day when not pregnant--I'd be a cow!! It's been a moving target in pregnancy for me, so I'm not sure what I need these days. Agree with PP about seeing a nutritionist.
I never count calories i just try to make good food choices. For example make ever meal half plants. Fruit or veggie. It really helps. =)
This is a really good idea. I use Fitbit, but never the calories part. I second asking your doc, but listen to your body too. It craves what it craves...and I find if I ignore strong cravings, I eat my way around that particular food and STILL keep thinking about wanting it. As my pregnant friend put it the other day, this is a weight-gain marathon!
