I had my last scan today and it looks like over the last couple weeks, growth has really slowed down for both babies. My consultant decided that he wants to move my induction up a few days because of this. It's strictly a "better safe than sorry" scenario, the twins are still doing well, moving lots, and all of the blood pressure measurements taken from both the cords and blood vessels in the brains were still normal. The actual measurements that seemed small in the report may even be larger than what was recorded, as there's not much room in there and I imagine it's impossible for them to be perfectly accurate.
Baby Boy is now estimated at 5lbs 7oz, Baby Girl at 5lbs 14oz, and as I'm 36+5 today, we'll have just made it to full term + a day or two when they arrive.
So my induction starts this Saturday! I'll post updates here so I don't end up spamming the Randoms threads over the next few days. Any happy thoughts or good vibes directed at my little monkeys and some last minute growth will be much appreciated!

2hrs since we got here and I've only just been admitted to a ward, although not the labour ward. It's massively busy, tons of women giving birth when we arrived so they're typically strapped for rooms and available midwives. They're going to move me as soon as a room is ready for me but I've been told if it's still busy by lunch they may send me home and try to get me in tomorrow. So frustrated.
---
4:30pm - still waiting. I've had a NST, and they're not 100% happy with my BP so they took some blood to check for PreE, but not heard anything since then. No idea at this point if I'll be heading home or not, and desperate to get things going. Starting to feel like I should have just booked a c section just so it'd be done.
After about 10 hrs I finally have a room. Had an examination before the first pessary would go in, but I'm already 4 cm so my waters were able to be broken! Probably wouldn't have made it to Wednesday anyway, and now we're on our way!
Aid.an Isa.ak, 2:21am, 6lbs 5oz. Ev.elyn Lily, 2:31am, 5lbs 6oz.
Labour was about 6 hours long from waters breaking, both babies doing well so far! Will update with photos later on.
Pictures at last! We are still in hospital with a plethora of feeding issues, but hoping to make some progress today and head home tomorrow once my milk has come in. To recap a little:
After my 10hr wait for a room, my induction was "canceled" after I was examined and Aidan's head was super low, I was already 4cm, and the midwife broken my water, telling me I likely would have gone into labour that night. Contractions started strong and fast within 30mins, despite not having any meds (until later on to keep contractions up for twin 2 delivery.
It took about an hour to get a cannula in my hand for a drip and an anaesthetist ready to give me an epidural, during which time I vomited everything that I'd eaten 5 hours previous and laboured through some hellish contractions. I found it difficult to keep in positions to get the epidural and keep the Twins' heart monitors in contact, but DH was amazing and really had me focused on breathing. Once the epidural was in and working, I felt great. I could still move and make out sensations, I only had some mild itchiness on my bump, and I couldn't feel contractions.
I was examined again a little while after that and Aidan's head was pretty much right there, no cervix left whatsoever, so I got on with pushing. It took some time to get him around the bend and it was frustrating having to be told I was having contractions (DH was chatty so I probably missed 20% of my pushing time), but apparently I did well for a FTM and he was out in about 40 minutes. I could feel his head swivel all the way around once it was out, so weird, and I could feel a bit of stinging as I stretched, but the endurable was just amazing.
Evelyn took another 10 minutes, a few minutes of that was my doctors confirming her position, but she was really fast, easy, and came out sunny side up. Both twins were crying within seconds of being born so didn't need to be seen by a pedi, and their weights were both off. Aidan was a lb heavier than estimates, Evie was nearly a lb lighter.
So we're dealing with poor latch, reluctant feeding, some jaundice, and anaemia from me. Desperate to get my milk in, I'm hoping that everything will get a lot easier then and I'll be close to heading home! Thank you for all the lovely well wishes!
