I have been up since 4, not because of contractions but I woke up STARVING and had to get a bowl of cereal. I don't know what it is with this appetite of mine here lately...
@aliam20 thinking about you! Hopefully squish decides to stay put until after work. Message me if you need to!!
Besides contractions waking me up at 10:30 last night shortly after I fell asleep, I was actually able to sleep through the night last night. I woke up before my alarm went off, but not by much.
@aliam20 Hope you have an uneventful day at work and baby cooperates until you at least get home!
I've been having contractions that wake me for the past 3 nights, it's 4 here now, I've been up for an hour. I've been having them on and off in 3 to 4 hour intervals and I'm over it. 39 weeks tomorrow. My last OB appt is today, combined with a PreOp appt. (she's breech and after an unsuccessful ECV on the 13th, I have a cesarean scheduled for Monday). All I want is for them to tell me she flipped, I can feel her head against my ribs, so I know she hasn't, but anything can happen, right?

Got my mother effing period today. So did not miss this. Work is going to be fun today: pms-ing, exhausted, stressed, hormonal. Plus I get to have it out with the nicu doctors this afternoon. Look out!

Luke Bryan concert tonight! Woohoo! I am so stinkin excited for this! It's been so long since I've gone to a concert. Hubs was like are you wearing your boots?...Um 90 degree temps and swollenish feet at almost 35 weeks pregnant? No. I'll be less hill Billy for you tonight babe...--he hates country, and is just going for me.
@aliam20, hope that baby stays put until after you get home. My worst fear is my water breaking during my train commute. Even the office would be better!
I've been having cramping the past couple nights that have made it difficult to fall asleep. Then I've been waking up between midnight and 2 a.m. to pee, and haven't been able to fall asleep for hours. Ugh, I miss sleep!
Oh, and my husband mentioned today that he's thinking of taking extra shifts when he's home with me right after baby is born. He normally works every other week, so this would be an extra shift during one of his normal weeks off - which is either the week baby is born or two weeks later. Um, no. I'm having a C section, and we have a toddler to take care of too. He only wants to work the extra shift(s) because "it's nice to have the extra money." Sure it is, but we don't need the money and I need the help. WTF H?
oopsiedaisies, awesome for a fun night and a great husband!!
This is day 5 of my headache. I am not sure how much longer I can function with it. My next appointment is next Thursday, it seems so far away.
And I am up almost every hour to pee (especially since I upped my already high water intake due to this headache). I am ready for the no more pee'ing in the middle of the night to start.
Got my mother effing period today. So did not miss this. Work is going to be fun today: pms-ing, exhausted, stressed, hormonal. Plus I get to have it out with the nicu doctors this afternoon. Look out!
Y'all it's 530 here right now! How are you people up? I'm awake because of a killer headache but I'm hoping to get back to sleep. Spotting a bit after my appointment yesterday.
My doc was like "I don't want you to be disappointed if you get the epidural. That was just the cervical exam and you had a pretty hard time." Thank you Captain Obvious. I know I'm a frickin wimp. But a girl can dream right? Right?!

Damn! Sorry, mo. Periods are such a devil. Good luck with the ass kicking after work!
@aliam20 sex gives me contractions like crazy. To the point where DH, who never turns down anything, will refuse based on his schedule for the next day. His paranoid he'll put me into labor on an extra busy day. What a nerd. Hope baby stays put until after work!
@janetheconquerer headaches suck so much. Mine hasn't been continuous, but despite actually sleeping pretty well, I've woken up with one every day this week. So lame. I hope you get some relief.
@aliam20 FX that baby stays put at least until after work!
motownthrowdown I'm sorry about the period that really sucks. Good luck with the NICU doctors! Although I'm sure they're the ones who need the luck bc you've been a great advocate for yourself & Amelia thus far!
abvintage my OB didn't say anything like that bc he didn't see the faces I was making... but that cervical check made me thankful that an epidural is already part of my plans lol
@aliam20, GO HOME. It's your last day anyways - I say finish what's open on your desk and call it a day. I don't think anyone is going to argue with a 9 month pregnant lady.
Thanks ajetter, I need the relief, function is hard on a normal basis but now it's really hard with the headache. And what I haven't mentioned is my office faces our warehouse where there is loud continuous sheet metal work from the moment I walk in until 2:30 pm. That doesn't really help either.
I actually woke up at some point in the night with contractions. At least I think that's what they were... I've never really felt any up to this point. It was annoying to be awake but I was actually kind of excited bc I've never noticed any or had any signs of upcoming labor! And right now my stomach feels tight/hard while baby moves around so that hurts. I need a nap!
@aliam20, are there donuts? because if there are then you went in for the right reasons! lol. I would say my goodbyes and make a dash wobble for the door.
I tried putting on jeans this morning. WHAT A JOKE. I don't think I've ever done so much grunting in my life. The bottoms roll so that was fun trying to bed over to do. I also think babies head is down in my pelvis because the pain in real. It's Friday and my work does "half day Fridays" during the summer. So waiting on 1pm then heading to the doc for my 36 week check up and I believe they said it starts my cervical checks.
I also committed to two fantasy football leagues. Figured I'd be home for 2 months so when I'm not tending to LO I'll be dominating my leagues
@janetheconquerer can your OB and have them call in a prescription for your headache? I take fioricet and it works most of the time.. Hope it eases up for you soon!

Booooo to the period.. Hope Miss Amelia is doing well but I surely wouldn't want to be the nicu doctors today! Go mama bear!

Wishing everyone a FABULOUS day!
No cervical check yet but yesterday when I had to lay flat on my back for him to measure my stomach I was wincing because of RLP in my left hip/groin area. I felt like a little bitch! He did tell me I could keep my knee up if it didn't hurt that way. Yay imminent child birth...
gingerygirl, LOL I wish I really could do that. I work with a bunch of people that are EMTs on the side (many of which have delivered babies), so they'd be like "HELL NO YOU'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE, WE'LL DELIVER HERE!"
And then I'll be all, no guys.. really. I'm OK.
ah, damn EMTs. Well then, I would just be like "peace suckers!" and leave. Seriously, its your last day and you're 9 months pregnant. Leave work and go get a donut.
shayr I love fantasy football!! I've never won, but I got 2nd the last 2 years not bad for the only girl in the league. I don't have a league to play in this year though! I'm sure I'll have plenty of things to occupy me though lol
I slept okay. Only woke up once to pee but did wake up a few times with contractions. Nothing painful - I could dose off during them but definitely lower back contractions.
I also woke up once around 4 AM because prior to going to bed I read on FB that people were going around taking pictures of houses with cop cars in front of them - and who was home last night? H. Ugh. It stresses me out. I don't agree with the police brutality going on... At all. If H was that type of cop, I wouldn't be married to him, I promise you that. I just hate that I have to be afraid because of my H's job. If I made a little bit more money (I'm the bread winner anyways) he could just quit. I would love for him to do something different. It's selfish, I know, but I just hate his job because of how its portrayed these days.

@aliam20,Team go the F home over here. Though if you had your baby on the train, we would probably get to see your pretty face once the Youtube video comes up done by some teenaged kid.
@janetheconquerer, I hope your head feels better. They've ruled out pre-e, right?
I'm exhausted today and just want to go home. I feel like just giving myself a pity party today. I have about 2 1/2 weeks until my due date and my midwife will let me go 2 weeks after that. I don't know if I can handle being pregnant for almost another 5 weeks. I mentioned to DH that I wanted this baby out and he said no, not yet. I told him to strap a 50lb watermelon to his belly and see how he feels about the situation.
It's Day One of potty training here. Only one accident, and I am reasonably a sure that was a defiant get-out-of-time-out pee, so it might not have been an "accident" at all. Sneaky bastard!
I have an appointment in an hour, with a check and a GPS test. Soooo glad I asked my husband to stay home today and do this with me. Taking a potty training toddler to the appointment would have spiked my BP for sure.
@aliam20 GO HOME ALREADY!
abvintage your OB is being a butt. If it were me, that comment would give me an extra incentives to prove him wrong!

layloo08 Amelia is doing great. Shunt is working, she is eating more. They gave her antibiotics because her stomach incision looked a little red. They suspect a skin reaction, no big deal, but they are treating just to guarantee no infection because it could go to the shunt and that would be very bad. They also put her on fortifier to add calories because she's been losing weight the past week. She gained 8 ounces from surgery and fluid retention, they gave her diuretics,so she lost a bunch. The antibiotics and fortifier make her stomach hurt so she had been miserable all week. I want them to stop fortifier until the antibiotics are finished in 2 days. She's so upset, she is burning far more calories than the fortifier gives her.
So then I was thinking I could just stay there until the antibiotics are finished and insist on breastfeeding her. Try to fortify my BOOBS, Mr doctor man! And then dh told me I'm getting too angry about this.
