Hey Everyone,
I've had quite the stressful week. Last Sunday I started having brown spotting and cramping. I called my OB Monday and they were able to get me in Tuesday for some blood work. My 1st beta came back at 293 and my progesterone at 7.4. They basically told me my numbers were consistent with miscarriage but they wanted to check in a few days to see if my betas doubled. Yesterday my beta came back at 703 but my progesterone dropped to 6.2. I started having dull pain in my right lower pelvis region. My OB was concerned I might be having an ectopic so they brought me in again in the afternoon and did an ultrasound. They couldn't really see anything yet since I was only 4w6d by my LMP. They said that I have a corpus luteum cyst on my right ovary with some free fluid in my uterus so they said it might have ruptured and this could be causing my pain. My OB didn't seem too concerned and from my own research, it doesn't seem to harm a pregnancy. She said it didn't look like an ectopic but since she couldn't see anything yet she wants me to come back Monday for a repeat ultrasound, betas, and progesterone level. My OB seems hopeful. I asked about starting progesterone supplements and she wants to wait until Monday to make sure I'm not having an ectopic.
I really, really hope for good news on Monday but I'm afraid to get my hopes up again. My pain has stopped now and I'm no longer spotting. I have been trying to take it easy and not stress too much but it's hard not to worry. Please send me positive thoughts that no matter what happens, I can be strong.
*UPDATE 1* The Ultrasound today showed something growing in my left Fallopian tube that wasn't there last week. Likely ectopic pregnancy but still hard to see and know for sure what it is since I'm still early. There is a pseudosac in my uterus with nothing in it. I'm not having any more pain but still brown spotting. My betas went up to 2300, which isn't quite doubling but it increased by 66%, my doc seems to think an ectopic might not do this but it's hard to say. My progesterone went down to 5. I go back Wednesday for another ultrasound and blood work. If my doc still sees something in my Fallopian tube, she wants me to take methotrexate. I'm feeling like this is the beginning of the end. Thank you all for your support and kind words.
*UPDATE #2* The ultrasound today showed a fetal pole and yolk sac in the sac in the uterus and the sac looks more regularly shaped now!! Yay! Still too early for a heartbeat, I'm measuring 5 weeks 2 days, so I go back for another ultrasound next Friday. No more spotting or pain. My corpus luteum cyst on the right ovary resolved. There is still something near my left ovary that my doc is pretty certain is not ectopic pregnancy because it has no blood flow going to it but still not sure what it is and that worries me a bit. My doc put me on progesterone suppositories for my low progesterone now that we know we have a baby in the uterus! Fingers crossed for a heartbeat next week!
Here are some freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for your time.
