Is anyone actively nursing in here? I am, and hoping I'm not the only one.
DD2 is 12 months, and between my sore nipples and the wicked cramps I'm getting while she nurses, I'm considering weaning her... But that makes me sad, because I've never actively weaned a child. On the other hand, I'm fairly certain I'm not down for tandem nursing. How do you ladies feel, and what are your plans?
TTC since Sept 2012 M/C on 5/01/13 at 8 wks AF finally appeared 11 wks later per Provera Diagnosed with PCOS on 7/29/13 Three Failed Medicated Cycles, NTNP Indefinitely BFP #2 9/14/14, EDD 5/23/15...MMC discovered @ 9w2d; D&C 10/23/14 ***BFP #3 7/4/15, LO born 3/17/16***
I totally forgot to answer questions- I don't have a plan yet. I assume as he starts to eat more and more we will stop nursing as much. He still nurses every 3 hours during the day. I don't want to tandem nurse and would like a break so we will see how it all goes after he is officially one next month.

I started weaning DD about a month ago when she turned one. It ended up being a lot easier than I thought it would be. I still nurse her when she wakes up in the morning. I'm not ready to give that up yet. Hopefully I will be in the next month or two.
Still BFing here. DS is 14 months. I don't have a plan. We only nurse twice a day, and I'm kind of letting DS tell me what he wants. I never imagined myself tandem nursing but I'm not opposed to it either.
Also there's an awesome extended BFing check in on the breastfeeding board.

Still very much actively nursing a 13mo old here. 4x a day actually as I hadn't planned to wean until 18mo and this was a bit of a surprise. We nurse: Wake-up After morning nap After afternoon nap (will cut this one next, probably around 15mo if he doesn't before) Bedtime
I cold-turkey cut out one nursing session as soon as I found out I was pregnant (so down from 5 times to 4). One was really more of a snack anyway and I was exhausted/worried about the new baby. Thankfully he took it in stride and didn't even want a bottle instead. I still plan to go until he weans or 18mo, though I've heard supply drops like crazy in the 2nd tri so he might choose to wean then. No tandem for me so once his interest drops off we're done.

Reading this while nursing my 13mo, we nurse 3-4x a day. However, when I go back to work in August (I work in an elementary school) we will go down to twice a day - at wake up and bedtime. I don't plan on dropping those two feeding or trying to wean her before the new baby comes. If she stops that's fine, but otherwise I'll keeping going.
Still nursing my 15 mo. Mostly in the evenings/at night except on weekends. I weaned off the pump a few months ago once he moved into the young toddler room at daycare that doesn't allow bottles.
Tentatively planning on tandem nursing. I'd like to do child-lead weaning if at all possible and I think it's pretty unlikely that DS will choose to wean in the next 8 months.

I'm not currently BFing, but when I got pregnant with #2, DD1 was 8 months old and still very much nursing. She self weaned by 12 months. I had no plans of how to wean her, so I'm thankful she figured it out on her own. I think that's why I nursed DD2 until she was 20 months, because I suck at trying to wean my kids haha. I guess my response is no help, but just be confident in your decision to wean and I hope your LO will adjust without much trouble. :-)
Has anyone pumped? I went out to dinner and missed nursing. Just pumped my normal 4 oz. I thought supply would decrease. I'm only 8 weeks so not sure when it does. Second tri?

Talked to my LC yesterday. She says that during second Tri that the milk changes to colustrum in anticipation of the new baby. I think I'm just gonna hang, and focus on day weaning for when I go back to work next month. (I work in a HS)

This makes total sense to me, now. I was just entering into 2nd trimester when DD1 self weaned. Thanks for the info!

Oooh this gives me hope that DS will self-wean in a few months... FX!!

I'm still nursing my 16 mo old 3-4x/day. It's starting to get a little uncomfortable. I usually get more nauseous while nursing sadly. But DD doesn't seem interested in weaning just yet. I tried dropping a feeding and she started waking up at night to feed. No thanks. So, I don't really know what my plan is. Ideally, I'd like to wean before #2 comes, but I want to minimize the stress on DD. So we'll just see how it goes. I'm hoping she'll self wean as my supply drops. I do love the cuddles though.
