I had a couple questions about injections. This is my first cycle doing follistim and just got back from re's office and it doesn't really seem like I'm responding too great to them except for my lining. I started off at 75 units for 4 nights then 100 for 3 and 150 for 2. I have 3 follicles on my right side that were 10,10.5 and 12 on my first monitoring appointment that was on Tuesday. Today they are 11.5,12 and 13. So they aren't really growing as fast as they were on clomid. Does this seem right? Is it usually a slow process with injectables? I'm worried I'm going to ovulate before my iui, I don't even know when I ovulate anymore I haven't been doing my temp or opk so I don't know when It will actually happen but I'm wondering how much longer they'll go with the medicine before they call it. I know they'll probably up the dosage and want me back there on Tuesday but we're expecting 2 feet of snow so not sure what they'll do about that either! Thanks in advance!

I'm an injects n00b myself but wanted to offer empathy on the slow-moving progress. That's always very disappointing, even when it eventually leads to O just fine. Paging bandm14 and BunnyBerry because I know they've done both oral meds and injects IUIs, and perhaps can discuss timing of stims?

The nurse told me that growing slowly is good for egg quality. It's typical (from what I heard) to stim anywhere from 8-10 days, but sometimes they mature fast than that, and sometimes it takes longer than that.
Since you have 3 growing together at close to the same size, it might just take a little extra push to get them all to mature. I think you are not out yet. I always grew slowly at first and then kind of exploded over a couple days at the end. I O'ed on injects on CD15, CD14, and CD16.
Good luck, hopefully you see more growth next time!
Also, if it's your first stim cycle, they might be a little more conservative with dosing at first to see how you respond. Likely if the response isn't strong enough this time, they'll up your dose for the next cycle.

I'm on my first purely injectable cycle. The RE told me it's low and slow, so to expect it to take longer than when I took it with Clomid. They just don't want to overstimulate and go too fast!
I'm continuing with 150 units for tonight tomorrow and Tuesday. They wanted me back there tuesday but with the snow they're pushing it to wednesday. So nervous about the timing! Thanks everyone
Sorry bluefairy5, I start Follistim this cycle so have only done Femara IUIs with trigger shots! Wish I could be more helpful OP, but it sounds like you are on track to potentially have 3 good follies, which would be great! I get feeling impatient (I'm currently checking every half hour to see if AF has arrived yet so I can schedule my baseline for my new cycle), but I don't think that slow follicle growth is necessarily something to be concerned over. Good luck!

Whoops! Jumped the gun. I'm not sure why I thought you'd done injects already. Sorry about that.
