I have an old model as well, works like a jem! Being low carb, a huge portion of my recipes call for cream cheese, so I've stopped putting my mixer away. She's got her own permanent spot on my counter.
I'm SO not looking forward to going grocery shopping today. Everyone is probably going batshitcrazy over the two feet of snow we are getting this week.

Speaking of cookies:
A few years back my mom and I made plans to spend the day baking shortbread cookies together. I was super pumped that my mom was going to pass her awesome recipe on to me- I grew up on these shortbread cookies and always helped my mom decorate them when I was a kid. My grandma also used to make shortbreads so I was certain I was about to inherit a prized family recipe.
So the time comes, and my mom tells me to get "her" recipe. "It's the one on the back of the corn starch box." I had to reevaluate some things that day.

We went bowling last night and my clumsy ass fell. Now my knee hurts, fuck! Today we are having a carne asada cookout with all the delicious fixings. Once I decide to get my lazy ass out of bed I'll be making homemade pico de gallo and guacamole. Now I'm making myself hungry.
I'm getting ready to make cookies with my favorite kitchen appliance:
Yup, my Ice Blue KitchenAid mixer. It gives me the happies whenever I walk into my kitchen and see it. Sometimes I just pet it. What are you guys doing today/what's your favorite thing in your kitchen/ gimme a good cookie recipe?!
I'm back in bed and want to do a lot of nothing. Still have awesome cramps and a massive headache that may be turning into a migraine. DH had soccer this morning so when he got back I sent him off with DD to run some errands. I work from home tomorrow and then there's going to be another blizzard, so I have zero fucks to give about what I do or don't accomplish today.
I also love my kitchen aid (white, classic model) and would love a bigger/fancier one someday. I don't have enough counter space right now though so it doesn't get used as often as it used to.
These are no bake peanut butter cornflake chews. 1 cup creamy peanut butter 1 cup sugar 1 cup light corn syurp 5 cups cornflakes
Slowly bring the first 3 ingredients to a rolling boil. Boil for a minute, no longer or you will end up with rock hard chews!
Mix with cornflakes in large bowl and then spoon onto wax paper. I use two spoons to scoop them out and then after the little pile has cooled for a few seconds I will squish it into more of a ball. Allow to cool completely.
Sometimes I will add cinnamon to the mix before you boil it. So good!!
My area is suppossed to get 18-24 inches of snow? Huh, guess I better make more cookies. I'm really wishing I had the ice cream attachment, it looks kick-ass.
H and I have already gone grocery shopping, cleaned the house, and done a project. Now we are on our way to visit our friend's new baby who was born on Wednesday then off to possibly buy a new sofa. No cookie baking here.

my favorite thing in my kitchen is my husband. I don't cook much. Nor do I do dishes. I do have a kitchen aid in white. I'll bake every so often. My crockpot does well for itself too. I will be throwing meatballs in there with BBQ sauce and grape jelly for the Royal Rumble tonight.
I drank way too much beer last night and mercifully am not hungover today.
So far we've lounged around and played Diablo 3 for a few hours. Just ate lunch; will probably take the dogs for a walk this afternoon and then maybe make some fresh pasta (in my white KitchenAid, with the pasta attachment, of course)
We have successfully managed to not leave the house all weekend, and we are trying to go for it today too. I made a delicious Quiche for brunch. I'm currently eating a brownie I made last night, and it's Spaghetti Sunday!!! with homemade salad. I should be able to do lots of spamming.
So this was clearly the wrong post to click on, seeing that I'm currently sweets-free for this month. I was doing so good until today, now I want to eat every fucking thing in this thread.

I've got meatballs in the crockpot for pasta night tonight, and they smell delicious.
Also, this thread is REALLY making me want a KitchenAid. It's been on my Christmas/birthday/anniversary list for 4 years now. You'd think DH would get my hints...
