What kind of milk does your J12 kid drink?
Sadie's drinking a less now and I've been throwing milk out. I'd like to switch her to 2% so we only have to buy one gallon, but she's such a skinny minny! Am I overthinking it?

We switched him to non fat because at his 2 year the dr said he was a little on the chubbier side and he could drink that or 2%, just whatever was in the house. I drink nonfat, so I just put him on that. I think he drinks 2% at DC though.

Dagny drinks 2%. I personally drink lactose free skim (DH doesn't really drink milk) and that shit ain't cheap so she wouldn't be drinking my milk regardless. We were told at her 2 year appointment to switch to 2%. She's not a hugei milk drinker, I buy half gallons & usually throw out the last quarter.

Avery still gets whole. She hasn't even hit 25lbs yet so I'll be keeping her on it for awhile. I usually buy a gallon of whole and a gallon of 2% each week. DD#1 gets some of each so we run out at the same time. I never throw out milk, but my girls either drink milk or water.

If I can even get him to drink any he will drink 1 or 2% I also have a skinny one (28lbs) but he doesn't really care for milk so I just continue to buy him whole milk yogurts.

We switched to 2% a couple of months after he turned 2. I plan on keeping him on that for a while. I'm not sure when I'll switch him to skim, but right now he gets a lot of his calories from milk so I don't want to cut it down.

We do organic milk, usually 2%, sometimes whole if he's being super picky lately just to get more fat in him. Organic lasts a lot longer--do you think that would help? And I don't know what stores you have but we have kroger and it's usually $2.99 per half gallon of organic milk, but it lasts so long so I don't throw it out.
Skim or 2% depending upon what's in the fridge. I drive skim and the other 2 drink 2%. If they drink all of the 2% I'll give her mine so I don't throw it away.

That's interesting that the organic lasts longer! I don't think our small grocery store even carries organic though. I usually buy a gallon of whole plus a gallon of skim and end up throwing the last bits out of both. I'll probably switch to 2% and just buy one then.

We drink skim but lately we've been adding almond milk because riley is a milk fiend and I think the dairy is adding to her constipation issues. She loves it!

Organic lasts longer if its the ultra pasteurized kind, I believe. The organic milk i used to get at a local dairy would go bad in the same time frame as regular milk.
I buy 1% milk for everyone. I don't drink milk though and ds is 34 lbs so I didn't think whole milk was needed anymore. Maybe you could start doing half / half for her - buy a small thing of whole and mix with whatever the family drinks?
DS drinks 2%. He has had a hard time gaining weight and at 2 years 3 months we were told we could switch from whole to 2%, but to wait to switch from 2% until he is weighed again at 3.
