I think my epi was too strong. My daughter was 7 lbs 1 oz and I had a second degree tear. I wonder if I had been able to feel more if I wouldn't have torn. It wasn't too bad though and I made a full recovery.
One thing I would recommend is to take stool softeners. I bought a bottle of 60 pills (store brand is fine) and took them twice a day starting the day I gave birth and finished the bottle. I never had any pain pooping after giving birth.

Oh God I forgot about the first PP poop. I'm going to have nightmares tonight. I will definitely be holding on tight to stool softeners this time around.
So on another note that doesn't involve tearing from V to A.
Anyone else's pets being super freaking affectionate? My cat has been all over me lately which is not like him at all.
Yes! I have two cats and two dogs. About a week after I found out I was pregnant, one of my cats started sitting in my lap ALL the time. It's weird because he has never done this before. He isn't a snuggle cat. He like sniffs me all over and then lays down on my stomach. He acts like he is doing me a service or something! He doesn't purr, he doesn't want me to touch him. It's so weird!

Yes! That was one of my first signs that I was pregnant - my dog is usually more into DH, but he's been super clingy since about a week post-O. He was very worried at first because I think DS's birth traumatized him (me leaving the house in intense pain and not coming back for 3 days), but seems to have gotten used to it a bit. It's crazy how sensitive they are!

Not really pregnancy related: I have an ear infection. I went to the doctor and was given amoxicillin on Friday. I still have fluid in my ear and it's killing me. Muffled hearing, constant ringing, pain, etc.
So my questions, if you have had ear infections or know anything about them, how long should it take for the fluid to go away? Is there anything I can do to speed the process along?
awkwardturtle I felt relief by the next day. Dh had to go back and get a diff antibiotic because the amoxicillin didn't work for him. Hope it feels better soon!

Yeah, all my docs have said an antibiotic should have you feeling 90% better after 24 hours of it. Sounds like you need something else awkwardturtle

I'd also lay on a heating pad. It always helps me.
