I tested early with a First Response Early Result test and got my BFP on Thursday 7/30; I also tested positive on Friday & Saturday. Last night DH and I dropped DS off at my parents so I could take him out for a birthday dinner. After dinner I went to use the restroom and when I wiped, saw light pinkish-red blood on the toilet paper. It wasn't a lot, but enough to scare me. We immediately picked up DS and go home. I peed again and and a very very small clot was on the toilet paper with blood. I put a pad in and this morning there was hardly anything on it, just a tiny bit of reddish-brown spotting. No blood when wiping this morning (sorry, I should have advised you of TMI in advance).
I know you all are not doctors, but curious if any ladies have had this experience with this pregnancy or previous? I never had any sort of early bleeding with DS (except when I had kidney stones at 24 weeks). From what I have read, any implantation bleeding occurs before the BFP. I know I am still very early on at 3w 5d so there is not really anything I can do one way or another except pray and hope for the best.
ciaobaby, I have not experienced this myself but I have heard that some bleeding in the beginning can be normal. Can you call your doctor? I'm under the care of an RE so very closely monitored, so I honestly don't know what an OBGYN would do, but it wouldn't hurt to call.
I know this is really scary, but try not to panic yet. A small amount of bleeding can be normal. /anecdote: DH's aunt had spotting every single day during her whole pregnancy with her oldest. Everything was fine.
If you find that the bleeding becomes heavier and/or is accompanied by period-like cramps, call your doctor tomorrow so that they can test your hCG levels. Hope the spotting stops!
I had spotting with DS. Since I had a history of mc they had me come in for betas and everything was fine. Definitely call or go in if it gets heavier, but spotting is often normal.
I had slight spotting at 5 weeks. I went in to Drs office just as a precaution. I had a UTI and they said that could be the cause. Dr said its not uncommon for the slight spotting early on because we have small blood vessels and the baby can be pushing on those. Hope this info helps.
Thanks for the reassuring words, ladies. There has been no more bleeding today and I am calling my OB in the morning. I know people say they sometimes have bleeding, but I guess the clot just scared me. Also worried since I didn't experience it during my first pregnancy. We shall see what happens and I'll report back after talking with the doctor.
It sounds like your spotting is very mild and not something to worry about. I had pink spotting with DS1 at 4 weeks and with this one I spotted (pinkish-brown) like CRAZY from 3DPO until like 2 days ago. I went in for an betas and progesterone at 4 weeks to ease my mind. I know it's hard now knowing what's going on right now, but if you call your OB tomorrow, they might have you come in for a blood draw to make sure your levels look good.
Quick update: No more bleeding after Saturday. My OB had me come in yesterday to check my hCG level, which was 359. I was told that is a good number at 3w6d but to come in tomorrow afternoon to check again and make sure it is increasing appropriately. Sorry to be a worrier, just scared me since I had not experienced bleeding or passed any clots with DS. My OB is optimistic that all is well so I will be too!

Glad it seems ok now! I had some spotting with my first really early on and I freaked out and went to the OB to get checked out. Glad you can go in tomorrow, keep us updated.
That number is actually huge for 3w6d! 25-100 is normal. Are you sure you aren't a few days further along?
The first day of my LMP was 7/7 so that would put me at 4 weeks today, right? High hCG level...twins?!? lol
It's hard to say if you weren't temping. Since you don't know when you ovulated, we will just have to wait for your dating U/S. But those numbers put you closer to 4w2d.

First u/s isn't until 9/15 at 10w, so we will have to wait and see! Didn't get my hCG levels checked with DS, so I always just went by my LMP. We'll see what my numbers are at after my blood draw tomorrow.
Final update, because I'm sure you're all tired of hearing from me! lol
Numbers went from 359 on Monday to 971 yesterday, so yay for that! My OB says that everything looks good but she went ahead and scheduled me for an early u/s on 8/18. I'll be 6w that day. Cheers for my OB because she has been very good about validating my concerns; even when she said that bleeding can be normal, she suggested that I come in to get my hCG levels checked before I even had to ask and then she proactively scheduled the early u/s!
