trucks (wheels), balls, books, my nose (seriously sick of making honking noises when he grabs it), anything he can bang against something (the track to his v-tech smart car set), anything he can try to ride/climb

Anything that he can take apart, put back together, fit in, push buttons etc. TBH we haven't bought a lot of actual toys lately. The Little People farm is one that was a big hit though. And Duplos! He actually wants to build things with them now.
He loves putting the tops on bottles and taking them off- we gave him some of the plastic Snapple bottles so the lids are nice and big. He's also obsessed with keys, if you give him a key ring he'll try to "unlock" anything with a hole. He's also obsessed with taking wipes out so I'm planning to make this: aspottedpony.com/fun-for-kids/turn-a-wipe-container-into-the-best-infant-and-toddler-toy/876/
ETA: He has a turtle ball popper but he mostly uses it as a weapon.

I was so surprised to see how much my LO loved the Melissa and Doug frog pull toy my parents got her. Clearly, pull toys are a big hit at the moment! She also loves the little John Deere ride-on tractor my parents got her for her trip to their farm. It's not terribly bulky and doesn't make any noises--which is great for our small townhouse.
