This is the weekly check-in for April moms who have experienced pregnancy loss before this pregnancy. We are sorry you have to be here, but let's get through the next 9 months together. If this if your first check-in, welcome!
Please share the following in your post:
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable)
How far along are you (weeks/fruit):
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally?
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones:
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls?
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable) Early loss in Aug '14
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): Will be 6 weeks tomorrow! I believe that is a pea.
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Physically in starting to get morning (all-day) sickness. While it isn't pleasant, I've never been so thrilled to feel ill. It soothes my PgAL brain
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: I have an appointment with a nurse educator on Wednesday. It looks like they will send me to the lab too, so I'm not sure if they will test betas again?
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? I love taupe! Especially with my white trim.
Hi jags8 & peanutmuse -- I was about to start posting in the AL thread in GKU when I got my BFP -- my loss was not pregnancy loss, but it is obviously very relevant to this pregnancy and is messing with my head to no end...hope you guys don't mind. (Well, I'm pretty sure peanut won't, but jags8 we are still getting to know each other...and if you are not cool with it, totally totally fine. I get they are different.)
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): 4w3d / poppyseed
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? I am living in a glass case of emotion right now. The first "weird" thing with J was discovered at our NT at 11w6d. Adding into that the ordinary first tri fears, I'm just peeing on sticks incessantly, on crazy toilet paper watch, and Googling over and over all the statistics I already know about our chances of another child with Kabuki Syndrome, chances of miscarriage...
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: September 1 (7w4d)...then we'll decide whether to do the 11w6d NT to see if the same issue is present then CVS, or to go straight to CVS at 10 weeks. Or we may do the CVS at 10 weeks and still do a scan at 11w6d -- my OB thinks my mind will be more at ease if I can see things are normal (KNOCK ON WOOD) compared to the same point as last pregnancy. It's all so fucking complicated.
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? Gray! Gray gray everywhere - blue grays, dark grays, all grays
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable): Loss in January of this year
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): 6w, 1d
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Emotionally I am fucked up right now. Wednesday is the ultrasound to hear the heartbeat. This was the appointment we learned of the loss last time. We never got a heart beat. I'm scared shitless right now.
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: See above.
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? A Behr color called Contemplation. It's a very light, calming blue/green color. We used it in our bedroom at our last house and used it again in our current house.
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Physically, I'm tired and sore with the occasional bout of nausea. Emotionally, I feel numb. I am so excited yet so scared. I am having a hard time letting myself actually feel all the feels. I hope that we see a heartbeat next week...and if we do I hope it makes me feel a little more confident.
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: a week from today I have my first ultrasound.
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? Gray

I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes different, but a loss is a loss, so I vote you're welcome here with open arms
I did the googling of statistics my first time around. Before I got my BFP this time, I thought back to all that goggling and thought to myself - it made no difference, why did I torture myself with this all the time? So this time I am trying my hardest to stay away.
I'm so glad you have an OB who sees the importance of your piece of mind in this situation.

I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say you are totally welcome here, steveo.
Big hugs, Ann612! I'll be keeping my FX for you until Wednesday.
danenikki, I tried to turn around my thinking and just count each wipe without blood as a win. I've had so many wins this pregnancy already!
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable) MC at 8w in April CP at 4w3d
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): 4w5d, so a poppyseed, I think?
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Physically, a little messed up. I posted about this on CAR, but my progesterone suppositories gave me a yeast infection, BV, and a UTI. So fun! My provider said it was ok to stop taking them and now I'm just working on clearing out these infections.
Emotionally I'm doing pretty well. I passed my CP milestone- yay!
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: My HCG today was 1699 which is great. Once it reaches 3000 we get an u/s to check in, so that will hopefully go well and give us all peace of mind!
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? I like neutral yellows, like these
Thanks so much for starting this jags8! GL on Wednesday; I think that I read that you are going to be watching a How to be Pregnant Video...bring popcorn and consider live posting for us because it sounds super exciting.
peanutmuse - Congrats! I think you're a minute pregnant by now.
steveo - I think you can totally go here and I am really happy to hear that your OB is being awesome and supportive.
PiradicalMaid - Ugh! Sorry to hear about all the infections. My RE has me doing "a comprehensive internal and external rinse" 2 hours after the suppositories....Now I know why. Hope it all clears up soon!
buttercup - Happy to hear that you are feeling better and that you've passed that milestone.
mrsk23 - I felt totally disconnected until I had my u/s - I hope that things go well at yours too!
danenikki Best sickness ever! GL getting an earlier appointment!
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable): Ectopic June 2015
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): 7, I've got a little blueberry!
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? I throw up all the time and I am not really finding that there is anything that gives me relief except for sleeping however I do find comfort in all the puke because it makes my PgAL brain feel like I am uber pregnant and have all the pukes to prove it. Emotionally pretty good since I heard the heartbeat last week and I have another ultrasound tomorrow.
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: I have an appointment tomorrow with my RE and I'll have another ultrasound. They said bloodwork too but I am not sure what they are testing for at this point.
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? I am with steveo. I love all the greys! I like plain walls and bright artwork.
Edited because I noticed a typo like 24 hours later. (It's never too late)
Pregnancy Loss Background (if you're comfortable): ectopic pregnancy in June 2013, m/c at 10w in Jan. 2015, and a CP in July 2015
How far along are you (weeks/fruit): 4 weeks
How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? I'm a little crampy and I've got sore boobs. I've also been pretty tired the last two days. Emotionally, I'm a nervous wreck.
Upcoming Appointments or Milestones: First beta was today. It was 135. I'm scheduled to go back Friday, but I'm going to call tomorrow to figure out why it's not scheduled for Wednesday.
QOTW: What is your favorite color for painting interior walls? My favorite color in my house is in my bedroom. It's Benjamin Moore Phillipsburg Blue.
peanutmuse - Congrats! I think you're a minute pregnant by now.
Sweet!
No but seriously, if you guys knew how pregnant I was and why I tested, you would laugh. I am 3 weeks 1 day. I have extremely short cycles and typically ovulate early, like CD11-13. I got my first BFP yesterday, on CD21. Twenty-freaking-one. I tested because I had a dream I was pregnant and I never had dreamt that before.
It's true, I belong in the loony bin. But here I am.
Now you can see why it was necessary to wait for the digi. I wonder if that's some sort of record, turning a digi positive on CD22....? Thoughts?
P.S. This is all from a person who (more or less) charted 38 cycles, and was TTCing for 33 of them. I should know better than to test so early.
peanutmuse, don't feel bad. I got my bfp at 3w2d. I'm an early tester too.
As far as turning the digi positive that early, it's probably a good thing since they're not as sensitive as some other tests. That said, I don't think their thresholds are as high as I originally thought they were. I remember reading that they don't pick up hcg until it's around 40-50, but I've gotten a positive when my hcg was in the 20s.
peanutmuse will you wait until your OB appointment for a beta?
wittyandwaiting, the 67 thousand dollar question. I have not decided yet. I only have a day or two to figure out what I want to do, because our vacation starts on Friday. I might just call today and ask for a chat with my OB to decide what to do. I have several other things going on in my body that I thought I would have time to deal with (because I thought I couldn't get KTFU without intervention). Kidney stones in both kidneys, ovarian cysts, essential hypertension controlled by meds. But I am feeling good and don't want to worry about things so early!
(I am on pregnancy safe meds for my hypertension, just to be clear.)

How far into your cycle you are doesn't matter. It's how far you are past ovulation that matters. So if you were CD21 but 11DPO, it's not that unreasonable to test. I tested on CD29 because I was 11DPO.

I know. It was more a commentary on how short my cycles are. As I mentioned, I have charted for 38 cycles, and just stopped temping for the past 3 or so because I was just so over it.
ETA: Even if I O'ed on the early side, CD11, that would have still only put me at 10dpo. But more likely it was 8dpo. Which is early for testing, nonetheless.
