Congratulations and holy shit! What a crazy birth story. I'm sorry you didn't feel like you could talk to your OB about your concerns- that really sucks. Ramona is beautiful! And you have a right to feel any and all the feelings you have about your baby being in the NICU. I hope she comes home asap, but just take it one day at a time. You can and will get through it.
What an amazing birth story. Can I just say your friend Sarah is your angel, I'd hate to think what would have happened without her! And fuck your OB, what a douche. I'm sorry things didn't go as 'planned' and little Ramona is in the nicu, even without serious issues that must be soooo hard to leave your precious baby. But how cute is she???!!! All the hugs while you get through this hard time!
You have an amazing birth story and Ramona is beautiful! I'm so sorry that you didn't feel that you could trust your OB and that he made you not trust your instincts. You guys did a great job looking after yourself through a crazy situation. I'm glad that she arrived safely and hope that she is able to come home soon!
Wow. That is quite the sorry. I'm glad you did in fact make it to the hospital and that you and Ramona are both okay. She is too precious and hopefully will have a short stay in the NICU. I'm sorry that your OB was a jerk and basically tried to cover himself for not paying more attention to your symptoms. I came relate somewhat to your story in that I feel like Hannah's birth was a bit of a surreal experience. I honestly didn't believe I would go to the hospital Sunday night pregnant and have an outside baby less that 3 hours later.
Huge hugs mama! And congratulations, she is beautiful! My daughter's birth was not what I envisioned either and it took me while to come to terms with it. You will too, but be kind to yourself right now, postpartum is hard if you have a perfect delivery, never mind a dramatic one. Hoping Ramona gets to come home soon!
Congrats again! I can't imagine how scary the whole ordeal must have been. Thank goodness for your friend and having such strong support. I'm so glad that YH made it in time and you didn't end up with an accidental home birth. He should totally fight that speeding ticket!
It really sucks that your OB was so dismissive and did not make you feel like you could talk to him. I hope Ramona's NICU stay is short and you are all home together very soon.

Oh my goodness! Sending you so many hugs! Ramona is so beautiful! She looks so peaceful in that picture. Your friend deserves a big hug and kiss lol! I'm glad your husband made it there on time to take you to the hospital and be there with you. I hope everyone gets to come home soon and snuggle and relax in your own bed.
Holy moly! What a story. That really sucks about your OB she's adorable though and I can only see your SO in your one profile pic, but I can see that she looks a lot like him!!
You have quite the story!! I'm sorry you were so uncomfortable with your OB. It's incredibly frustrating when they don't trust us to know our bodies, or at least take the time to ease our minds.
I'm so happy your husband made it! Plus, Ramona is beautiful, her name is gorgeous, and she has some amazing parents. I'm keeping you in my prayers and hope you all get to go home soon. Hugs love.

Hot damn, girl, I wish I could hug you IRL. Your experience is insane and not what you expected. I would be an emotional mess as well. Thank goodness your friend Sarah was available to be with you and talk you into getting ready for the hospital.
I would really speak up and speak my mind to the OB. He really needs to be told how his rapport had an impact on this pregnancy and labor. Maybe print out this birth story and show him.

What an amazing story, and what a quick birth...wow! I'm so glad you had your friend Sarah to be there with you and give you advice. I'm also glad your husband made it home in time! It stinks that you didn't feel comfortable talking to your OB and that he didn't just check you on Wed when he could have so easily.
Wow! Your story is amazing. Lots of Internet hugs for you! I'm so glad your friend was able to stay with you so you weren't going through all of that alone. Fuck your OB for making you feel that way. I can't imagine how difficult it is to have a baby in the NICU, but both you and her are in good hands now. Ramona is absolutely precious.
First off congrats , shes absolutely beautiful !! .. Second off holy crap what a birth story, and scary at the same time . !! I'm sorry your OB was such a douche , not cool !

I loved reading your story. So incredible. I'm so sorry your OB didn't listen to you, and that you were afraid to speak up. I know how frustrating it can be when Drs think they know our bodies better then we do.
Ramona is a gorgeous little girl and she's is so lucky to have such a strong Mommy. I hope she continues to do well in the Nicu and you get to take her home soon.

What a whirlwind experience! You are such a strong mama! Ramona is beautiful (look at all that freaking hair!!!!) and I hope her stay in the NICU is short.
What a crazy story! Definitely one Ramona is going to want to hear again and again. Your friend & H are awesome (I hope my H would have told the cop I was in labor at home, he might have got out of the ticket/got an escort to the hospital). Your OB is a dick and you should probably consider switching if you're not OAD. Ramona is gorgeous and I'm so excited for you two! Congratulations!
Holy shit! You're a freakin superhero pineapplesmoothie! Seriously, I hope you don't doubt yourself for one damn second. Contractions don't always feel like contractions. I'm so glad you and your sweet girl are doing well, and that Ramona is getting the care she needs right now. Your OB absolutely made the wrong call in not checking you and not validating your concerns. What a crazy birth story!
That is quite a story. I'm glad you weren't in fear/misery for too terribly long though. Wishing you both a speedy recovery, both physically and emotionally.
Congratulations! And I hope you get home very soon. Being in the NICU is scary and your feelings are valid. I do agree that your friend is a hero and so are you for listening to your body, even when you were put off by the OB. I wish you peace with your birth, it sounds rather traumatizing. But Ramona is here and she is lovely!

What a story. I'm sorry your OB didn't listen to what you were saying and check you to make sure all was okay. Ramona is adorable and I hope her stay in the nicu is short. Congrats!
Wow! I'm sorry your OB was such an ass. Maybe your experience will remind him to not be so arrogant next time... Though probably not. Ramona is a sweetie and looks just like you! I hope she gets to come home soon!
Useless anecdote: I was born at 35 weeks and weighed 4lb 12oz. I haven't had any lasting effects from the prematurity at all, and I hope the same for Ramona.
Congrats on a beautiful baby! Sorry it was so dramatic but just keep everything in perspective... you have a beautiful, healthy baby! :-) Try not to dwell on the rest of it.
What an incredible story. I'm sorry it was such an unexpectedly wild ride, but I am really amazed at how you handled everything (and continue to). I am continuing to send all my good vibes that sweet Ramona gets to come home with you soon.
Me (37) + DH (39) BFP #1: DS born July 2011 BFPs #2,3,4,5: Four losses from Nov 2013-Nov 2014. Yeah, that sucked. BFP #6: 1/5/15 - Rainbow baby boy born 9/16/15
What an amazing birth story! I can totally relate to the 'out of body' experience of pushing and feeling like you had no control over it. Also your description of delivering the placenta was spot on! I'm sorry you had such a negative experience with your OB and I hope that you find peace with your birthing experience. Congrats mama! Ramona is beautiful! Fingers crossed for a short stay in the nicu.
