Happy Monday everyone!
This is totally a pet peeve of mine, so if this makes me a special snowflake just roll your eyes and move along. But I feel like people aren't really understanding the appropriate way to use the introductory acronyms letting us know what's inside the post. So here are some common ones.
AW (attention whore):This is a brag. Something fantastic that's happening to you. If it's not braggy and good, it's not an AW post.
Good Example:
AW- my son is 8 today!
AW- I passed my Glucose test!
AW- Someone stopped me on the street and asked if I was a Victoria Secret model!
Bad Example:
AW- My appendix burst and I'm in the ambulance right now.
AW- My evil stepmother and 2 evil step sisters are going to a dance tonight and they won't let me go until I clean the house.
AW- They don't have my crib in stock.
NBR/NPR (Non-baby related, Non-pregnancy related): This is something you want to share that isn't necessarily brag-worthy. Maybe it's a question you have, or an experience you want to pass along.
Example:
NBR- What do you wear to a black tie wedding?
NPR - Need new music for my workout playlist.
NBR - My evil stepmother hired someone to take me out into the woods and kill me, now I'm hiding out with these 7 guys.
PSA (public service announcement): Words of wisdom that will benefit members of the board.
Example:
PSA - super sale at Gap Maternity this weekend!
PSA - the dangers of spinning wheels.
PSA - fasting for the GD test
T&Ps (thoughts and prayers): These are the posts that alert us that support is needed. Because someone you know and/or love is going through a hard time. And that person could very well be you. I don't know that examples are really needed here, I think everyone on this board is fantastic about asking for and giving support when needed.
