Okay, so for all of us EPers here I figured I would just create a full thread about my (first) experience with them.
Firstly, they came with two different size shields- 25 mm and 28mm. I use the 24mm medela shields normally but thought they might be getting a little tight from being used so often. So I decided to start with the 28mm shield.
I pumped for 15 minutes with those and got 2 ounces total. I usually average between 1.5-2.5 ounces. Rarely I can get up to 3 ounces in one sitting. So output-wise it was the same.
I decided to then switch shields because they felt a bit big, I pumped for a few more minutes and got another half ounce.
It was easy to use, just had to double check that it clicked so it wouldn't get all over the place. My bra may have been just slightly too loose so I had to keep adjusting it to make sure I had a tight suction, but they fit pretty well, so using a tighter bra I think will solve that problem.
I was able to play with DS, I picked him up, but had to hold him in cradle hold, it was much much easier than the bottles hanging down, though!
Overall, I liked using them and will keep going. I used my symphony rental pump but am going to use the PISA I'm sure at some point (battery backup with the storm) I think it will be equally as easy to use.
If you can think of any questions, I'd be happy to try to answer.
I had never heard of Freemies and now I'm fascinated! A lot of the reviews on Amazon talked about how the pieces are frosted and make it difficult to see what you're doing. Did you think that's an actual issue or just kind of inconvenient?
gldnbearz. In terms of cup size I was using a nursing bra with no wire, so I'm not really sure. I am a c cup roughly and they fit just fine in them. I actually want to use one of my tighter bras to keep them in even tighter, but I need to hold them super tight to get any milk (any pump).
ladybird I read about it being frosted and didn't think it was an issue. You can see well enough to make sure your nipples are in properly and you can hear the milk coming out.
I'm really interested in using these when I go back to work so I can pump during my prep period and lunch without having to worry about kiddos walking in on me and also for mobility. Following! Do they look strange when worn...?
Hmm, well I suddenly look very perky and very round! I think with just a sweater over it to hide the tubing would be just fine. I am wearing a tank top and it looks like I have wonderful cleavage though lol
