She's here (man that was quick!)

So....we were matched with an emergency placement on Tuesday, met birthparents and baby yesterday afternoon and brought baby home last night. Holy cow, that was fast.

Birthparents are a loving and awesome couple who would be wonderful parents if it were at all possible for them to be. And we got to understand that heartbreaking fact face to face yesterday. I admire them so much and look forward to forging a long relationship with them.

I'm knee deep in formula and diapers but I will be around needing guidance and support for all of this crazy wonderfulness.

Baby R was born 8/24, 6.3 lbs, 19.5 inches. Full head of jet black hair. She's perfect.

Hey lizblue,  We are doing amazing!  Totally in love with our little man.  He is growing and doing great!  It's hard to believe it's been 3weeks since he came into our lives, but I also cannot imagine life without him!  He has been eating more, but gets a little gassy which so far our Dr has not felt is a big concern.  He has a fairly good routine right now, with feeding every 3 hours.  He has been increasing the time he is alert and absolutely adorable!  We have learned he loves being swaddled and has a definite preference for a certain soother.  We are waiting for the consent for the adoption to be signed.  It was supposed to happen last week, but unfortunately his BM did not attend the meeting.  They are hoping to reschedule for later this month.  Since it is through our local CAS, we are hoping for it to continue as a consent situation, however if she is unable to attend the appointments, it will extend then process, as it will involve the courts etc.  Our little one is the 3rd child for his BM, and his two siblings have been adopted by the same family.  We were fortunate enough to have had contact and met the other adoptive family and his siblings .  We are so thrilled to have any level of openness for our little one, so he will know his story.  

How ow are things going with your little one? I can't imagine having only 24 hours to prepar for a newborn!  I thought 4 weeks was he shortest pregnancy ever! Lol.  I hope all is well!  PM if you ever want to chat!
