Okay so in the Philippines the "Christmas holiday season" starts with the -ber months. So September 1st is fair game for holiday (mostly Christmas seeing as they don't really do Halloween like in the U.S) gear to show up in stores... well actually I saw a "pre-Holiday sale" picture my friend posted about 2 weeks ago in one of the malls there.

I've toyed with the idea of wearing one of those baby skeleton shirts to work the day before Halloween as a way of telling my students that I'm pregnant! I might be too chicken though!

Always. Halloween is my favorite holiday. No idea what we'll be this year. The first year with DD she was an ewok, DH was r2d2 and I was c3po. Last year she was Frenchie with her two girl friends as Sandy and Rizzo and one boy was Danny, DH was the red car I made from a cardboard box. I like to make it instead of just buy one so it usually takes some time to get it ready.

So far we don't have any ideas. We'd discussed her being the submarine & DH and I dressing up from Life Aquatic.

Probably not specifically.

That is DH's birthday this year. He's thinking about seeing if his sister (lives in NY) & younger brother (lives in CT) want to come down and meet up here for Thanksgiving. I'm not a big Thanksgiving person but it would be fun to have people around!

DD and I will be going home for 3 weeks in December and we'll come home to spend Christmas with DH. He doesn't get any time off work so he can't travel with us. We'll do DD's birthday while home even though it's actually just after Christmas.

We dressed C up as the Pilsbury Doughboy last year and now DH feels pressured to top it. We were thinking of the Kool-Aid Man, but we can't get C to say "oh yeah" on demand. So we're back to the drawing board.

Will you try to incorporate your mini-bump into a costume? Nope. We don't get trick-or-treaters, so no real reason to dress up.

Anyone scheduling out travel plans for Thanksgiving? Not a chance. C's birthday is the weekend before and we host both families on Thanksgiving, so we'll be close to home.

Anyone scheduling out travel plans for Christmas/Hanukkah? DH is looking into a ~4 day trip to Bermuda right before Christmas, kind of a family babymoon. C and I would spend our days on the beach/by the pool and he could gamble. I'm so on board.

I'm a baby so I definitely didn't miss the haunted houses but I really missed the changing weather & all things pumpkin the last two years!!

+1 for Hocus Pocus being amazing.

I have no idea how trick-or-treating goes around here. We sort of did it with DD last year on our compound but it's not the same as walking around in a neighborhood. I want to just do a little party but DH said that's dumb vs. trick-or-treating.

Ummm YES. Halloween is my favorite holiday! Last year I made amazing cardboard cutouts to make silhouettes for my dining room windows. I'm kinda artsy so I just free-sketched them on cardboard and started cutting! I can't wait to use them again.

She is 13 months. The problem with flying is there is not a direct flight, so it becomes a huge hastle. The last 2 times we have driven middle of the night so she sleeps the whole way which helps her, but is awful for us.

Anyone start thinking about Halloween yet? Halloween is my most favorite holiday!! I throw a party almost every year to have an excuse to make fun themed food!! I make mummy hot dogs, monster cupcakes, spider cookies, etc! We also hang jack-o-lanterns from shephard's hooks at night, so it looks like they're floating! I also end up buying an obscene amount of pumpkins for our front yard and fireplace!

If you have a LO already any ideas for what they'll be? No little ones, but our yellow lab will have a lion's mane going on and our pittie will be sporting a flower petal collar! Nothing for the cat... I'd be murdered in my sleep...

We'll be in Disney in October and plan to go to the Halloween party two different nights, so DH is determined to think up something fun for at least one of the evenings! I have no good ideas... Non-bump related, I have a full on Vanelope von Schweetz costume that I'll be rocking for one of the parties!

I hate thinking about the holidays anymore. DH & my family live close but not very close...6 hours apart (15 hours from us), and it's turning into a real hassle to appease the grandparents. My mom wants us for everything. MIL plays the victim and goes on and on about how her grand baby won't even know her (they're a decade older than my parents and act like they've got one foot in the grave already). Holidays are my nightmare and I think these will be the last 2 we travel before saying if you want, come to us come out but we're staying put.

We saw the in laws last year so it will likely be my parents turn but SIL wants to host a dozen families at the lake house MIL & FIL have up north (ie- snowed in the middle of nowhere with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 20 people. No thanks!). Ugh. I have a headache just thinking about it all. I'm almost hoping for snowmaggedon so we have an excuse to stay home and enjoy each other with no ones feelings getting hurt.
