We finally have a home visit scheduled to become respite foster parents! I am so nervous for some reason and thinking about all of the little stuff that I need to get done between now and Wednesday evening. I thought that my experience as a licensing worker would help with this process but it certainly doesn't take about my nerves, excitement and impatience.

None of my home inspections have ever been a big deal. We barely cleaned up for this last one, and it was not a problem. I know I can tell you that till I'm blue in the face and it won't matter, though. GL with everything!

We're talking with our county about becoming respite parents and I'm nervous about the home visit also though we haven't scheduled it yet. If you have the time after it's done, I'd love to know every detail about it, lol! Good luck!

Well I did all that cleaning for no big reason. She didn't even want to look in my perfectly organized closets nor did she examine my recently cleaned baseboards Overall the visit went well. So much paperwork though, which I was prepared for but it's still overwhelming. I had to explain a couple of things a bit more to DH but otherwise she did great. We talked to her about age range and space that we have to try to narrow down an age range. DH was actually a bit more excited about it all after her visit and I was glad to see that as it confirmed that he isn't just going along with this for me. We are going to buy a bunk bed for DDs room this weekend and moving the convertible crib/toddler bed into the playroom. Step One is complete, but I know it will take a little time for the study to be finished. My patience paid off and I am finding it to be a learning experience being on the other side of a home study experience.
