My other BMB is talking about this too! They said something about target having a hard time figuring out their distributions, so keeping the shelves full was a problem. Also something about prices being higher, so the stores weren't really the same value as the U.S.

This is basically what I've heard, too. You'd go into Target and find the shelves half-empty, and what might usually cost $9 in the US was $12 or $13 in Canada. I don't know if anyone here POAS using a Target test, but I'd checked there, and 1 Target-brand pregnancy test (the regular, not the early-detection or anything) was about $12; a 2-pack was $19. It was cheaper at Rexall.

I always went there for their clothes, they had muscle tanks for 5 bucks each, and cardigans for around 12. And they don't shrink or get all funky like if you buy cheap tanks from Walmart.

I think I would cry if Target closed in the States. I love that place. I could live at Super Target. Doesn't sounds like its quite as good in Canada though.

I found the American Target stores to have a lot more selection and better choices than the Canadian stores
We don't have one close to us, but the few times I have gone I have not bought anything because I didn't find the prices to be that great but I am still surprised that they decided to pull the plug so quickly

Well, fuck. I go to Target every weekend with my husband just for something to do because it is a good walk from our home. I am buying a crapload of stuff on liquidation, that's for damn sure. Watch out baby department, I'm coming for you.

Yup, that's what I thought too!

I think the problem with Target was that they moved in a lot of the old Zellers stores here to offer .... almost the same stuff.

It was definitely a little underwhelming, especially compared to what I saw on the US site. Tangent: Why do so many Canadian websites not list inventory online? I hate browsing US sites only to find out the Canadian stores don't carry the same items.


But I have gotten some good deals there. We got a Samsung 50" smart tv for $499 during a clearout. I will miss it because it was one of those super lame activities we always did together. Ah well, we will have a last grand hurrah during the liquidation.
