How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? I still did not realize I was pregnant at this point.last time, so I assume I am more nauseaus this go around
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? We have told her, but she is way too young to understand
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I want to tell people about the pregnancy, but we have not had an appointment yet, so I need to wait. Also, last time we did not get a good reception from my family at all, so the idea of that happening again makes me sad. *Note we are in our mid 30's, have been happily married for 5 years, and we are financially stable, just no one was happy for us. DH's family will be thrilled though, so that is nice.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We met playing volleyball in a work league. He is an amazing father, and I am not sure that I could handle this parenting thing withough him. He is SO involved with DD.
How old are your other children? C will be turning 2 right before Thanksgiving.
How are you feeling? Good, I think my exhaustion is starting to die down. Now if only my bloat would disappear, too!
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? The only difference is my abs. I was in great shape before my 1st pregnancy, and my abs were tight enough that bloating was never a thing. Not so much, this time around...
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? We've told him that there's a baby in Mommy's belly but he doesn't get it or remember it. Which is fine, since we want to wait awhile longer before telling anyone.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I want to eat nothing but healthy food this weekend, after too many meals out this week. I wish DH was on board...
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We met at work about 4 years before we started dating and we had mutual respect and disinterest in each other, LOL. So it figures that I knew within the first few months of dating that I was going to marry him. Next year will be 10 years since our 1st date and 5 years since we married.
How are you feeling? Feeling decent, just EXHAUSTED.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? I didn't experience any nausea with DS, but I've been feeling a bit 'meh' this time around. Also a lot more tired...I think it mostly has to do with the fact that I didn't have to chase around a little person last time!
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? We've said stuff to DS like, "are you excited to be a big brother?" when we are playing with him, but he obviously doesn't understand much. Maybe he will as he gets a little older and my bump is out there!
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? Looking forward to a three day holiday weekend. We have a friend in from out of town that we are visiting with tonight and tomorrow while DH works, I will be at another friend's house who is having people over for food/football. All of our kids are close in age, so they should be able to play/entertain each other while I kick up my feet for a bit!
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We started dating right after high school and have been together 14 years. He is an extremely hands-on dad, which has been so helpful over the past year and will be huge during this pregnancy! DH and DS are best buds and I love watching them interact.
My mom really did not enjoy having kids, so I think she hoped I would never have them. She resented us, she left a job she loved to stay at home. She does not like kids very much, loves teenagers and up, but not kids. Also, we had been going on family trips latley (we live across the country from my parents, so we would take vacations together) and now that will either be ending, or it will be more kid centric, and she hates kid centric things.
Then when we told my brother and SIL we had no idea that they had been trying for almost 2 years, so they never even congratulated us, SIL just walked out of the room. We were visiting for Christmas, so it was a VERY uncomfortable week all stuck in the same house together. They do have a 4 month old now, so maybe this time it won't hurt them so much?

How far along are you? 6ish weeks(no EDD yet)
How old are your other children? 12 month old DS
How are you feeling? I am fortunate to feel pretty good. My main symptom is fatigue, but if I keep myself busy it actually improves. I get mild flu-like symptoms at night. I have never heard anyone else say that, but I had it with DS too.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? Almost identical so far.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? I've told him
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I am actually going to have to tell work next week. There's something I shouldn't be handling at work and it's going to be an issue next week. I don't think my boss is going to be happy that I am taking another 12 weeks off next spring.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We met my last year of undergraduate and got married young at 23 while I was in grad school. He is a teacher and the most wonderful dad. DS absolutely loves him and of course his first word was dada.
Hold old are your other children? She'll be 3 in Dec
How are you feeling? Like this LO will have second child syndrome, I just am too busy to be as excited.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? Seems like it's going to be more difficult.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? We told DD she was going to be a sibling. She didn't get it until about last week and now she talks about it all the time. She's been referring to the baby as a "she" and sometimes gets confused and thinks the baby is coming from the Philippines.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I forgot to take my allergy medicine last night and now I have a snot headache.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We started dating freshman year of college and I've never seen DH without a beard.
How far along are you? 9w1d Hold old are your other children? DD is 2 years old How are you feeling? Today pretty good. I feel way better when I don't have to get up super early. How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? I actually vomited more with DD but felt better by noon. This one I feel yucky all day but only dry heave. How do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? I told DD mommy has a baby in her belly. She doesn't get it. Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DH has to work tonight and I'm at training so he took DD to the ILS. So I have the night free for shopping and dinner out. QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We both are cops and meet at work. He currently works in narcotics. The work weeks can be long but we figure it.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? Matches more with DS than DD so far
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? Told them after our u/s yesterday! DS seemed cautiously excited and a little confused. We asked if he wanted a brother or sister and he kept saying just DDs name. We saw a baby in a restaurant after though and he said "like you have mama!" So he kind of gets it.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? DH got his wisdom teeth out today. Changing bloody gauze is great for a queasy stomach. Maybe that descriptive sentence should have had a warning? Haha, sorry!
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. HS sweethearts! He was my first kiss

How far along are you? 8w1d
Hold old are your other children? 2.5 Year Old
How are you feeling? Get tired when I don't eat enough protein, frequent indigestion
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? My MS faded around 8 weeks in my last pregnancy, so I guess things are the same. I feel more paranoid this time because of my AMA.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? I won't tell DS until after the detailed scan probably. I don't want him to mention it to anyone and then have to divulge a loss.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I wish I had more symptoms, but I guess I should be relieved! We have our u/s in 1.5 weeks.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc.
I met my SO in DC when we were fresh out of college and starting grad school. He made me laugh so I fell pretty hard. He loves our son very much but doesn't know how to play with him for extended periods. I am in charge of 95% of childcare.
How are you feeling? I didn't throw up yesterday!!
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? Completely different
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? Probably right before my ultrasound during week 11. She can't keep a secret, so we aren't telling her.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I ate soup this week! Still no meat, but SOUP! Also, I went to get a script for Diclegis (was using the OB's samples for a while) and it was a $250 copay. Cue pregnancy crying and misery. We didn't get it, btw, I'll just do the OTC stuff.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. He's amazing. He technically saw me at a ballroom dance competition (we were competing against each other) but was too shy to say hi. Months and months later, he saw me at a swing dance and finally introduced himself. I thought he was sketchy as hell. I guess it worked for him. He's a much better parent overall than I am, I think.
How are you feeling? Like a human after unisom for the past week but really uneasy about GDM.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous? Nausea more at night than the morning for DD and gestational diabetes this time that I didn't have the first time.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s)? We already told SD because she was here for her summer visit and we tell DD all the time but she's too young to understand.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I have my appt with the diabetes educator on Tuesday and Im really looking forward to it. I need answers and a clear list of foods that I should/shouldn't eat. If I have a list of things to choose from, I'll feel better about what I'm eating. Right now, even having read about it online, I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.
QOTW: tell me about your SO: we met at work almost 4 years ago and hit it off really quickly. We had both been married and divorced and had learned a lot from our experiences so we clicked right away and we "just get each other". He started the conversation when I was coordinating and interview for him and he thought I had a great butt but he liked the personality that came with it lol

How far along are you? 11 weeks today.
Hold old are your other children?
DS is 13.
How are you feeling?
Tired and nauseous but I feel better in the past few days that I have felt in the past few weeks so I'm beginning to feel very optimistic.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? My last pregnancy was almost 14 years ago, so I was a lot younger and definitely had more energy. I'm definitely feeling a little more tired this time around.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them?
We told DS right away, he's 13 years old and knew that we were trying because he's old enough to google some of the fertility meds that we had in our refrigerator. Also, with me going to the doctor so often he was starting to think that I had cancer or something terrible.
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? I'm really excited to have an ultrasound this week!
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc.
C is super practical and a total planner. I can be a bit of a whirlwind so she definitely calms me down. She's a great mom and super thoughtful.
Hold old are your other children? 16 months tomorrow
How are you feeling? No energy and lazy.
How does this pregnancy compare to previous pregnancies? The MS isn't as bad this time around as I've been able to go a day or two at times without taking Zofran. Hoping it will go away soon and not stick around for 24 weeks like last time.
When do you plan to tell your older kid(s) about your pregnancy and how do you plan to tell them? If you've already told, how did you tell them? She doesn't understand
Rants/Raves/Anything else to share? Just got back from a long weekend at the beach. Both a rant and rave since it was a great weekend, but I didn't feel well at times and having to go back to the condo for naps for DD kinda sucked.
QOTW: Tell me about your SO. Whatever you want: how you met, what you love about them, what kind of parents they are, etc. We met in college. Together for 11 years, married for 5 next month. He's very hands on with DD. He's even changing all poopy diapers right now as I can't deal with the smell. @east DH shaved his beard off one time and I told him don't ever do it again! Sometimes he'll do a goatee though. Courtniko I'm sorry your family isn't very supportive. My sister has a friend whose mom has the same feeling about kids. It boggles my mind that she would have 3 kids knowing she didn't want them.
