Less snow then predicted but we will still end up with about a foot I think by the end of the day. Not hotel necesary. But we had a great dinner last night and I was up with cramps at 5 am so was pretty glad to be on the safe side
Glad to hear the crazy snow predictions were wrong and everyone seems safe up north. Just a dusting here near DC, so nothing really.
My spam/venting: I haven't slept well for a few nights in a row, and I'm all grumpy/depressed today. I'm so done being pregnant! DS arrived at 39w1d at 2am, so this little girl is not following the whole "subsequent babies show up earlier" thing. (I'm 39w1d today)
False labor pains keep getting my hopes up, but then they go away. At least DD is moving around a bunch and seems to be doing well and growing on track.
I'm hoping some hot chocolate gets me in a better mood.

Is there any reason not to have a membrane sweep? Im 39 wks tomorrow and thinking about asking my dr to do it on Thursday. FTM so never had one before-pros/cons?
Blah. I was up last night with pretty painful contractions until they started to feel more annoying then painful around 1am. I was able to get some sleep, but I'm awake earlier than DS1 just waiting for him to fuss and wake up. My stomach is so worn out - feels like I've done 1,000 sit-ups, but minus the six pack. Today will be very long.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather ChickenOnSunday. Thinking of you and your family.
Snow day here, though it seems silly since the roads are pretty clear. Snow's been messing a lot with our musical's rehearsal schedule, so my initial plan of dialing down the amount of rehearsals I have closer to EDD is not working so well when things have to keep being made up. I don't know how you full-time ladies are still doing it! I'm doing a lot of my work from my laptop at home, but it's the most I can do to teach 1-2 hour rehearsals without feeling completely wiped out by the end. I'm still pretty terrified of how I'll react once in L&D, but I find I'm really looking forward to February.
Spam: just getting up and seeing the "dusting" that is more like 2 inches of snow, I wwanted DH to stay home with me but he can't. Gonna try and do something with my life today since yesterday was a no go. Have a great day ladies.
I dreamt I was breastfeeding my LO tonight. It was not going well - I think I'm a bit more nervous about this then I care to admit. These vivid dreams of the third tri are really starting to bugging me as mine are seldom nice and/or comforting. Woke up and was in a really bad mood, thankfully the one co-worker I really can't stand was out of the office today so I didn't have to deal with him.
hollydfromtn I'm in the same boat, very anxious to meet LO though I do want her to cook as long as possible! DH went to the Bahamas with a friend at the end of August and when they went to the casino at the resort he did something on the roulette table for 28 (I know nothing about roulette). I guess he won and so he is convinced her arrival date is 1/28... AKA tomorrow. We will see! I was up all night from terrible cramping - no timeable contractions though.
Irishcurlskmcookie mmmm pancakes. I had Cheerios with strawberries for breakfast. Stupid healthy breakfast.
babycfeb2015 I had mine swept yesterday. I kept reading that it would be painful but it only was uncomfortable. My cervix is very low though and I'm a stretchy 2/2.5cm. I've heard that makes a difference on the pain factor. TMI - I've been losing my MP, lots of bloody discharge and last night I was up with horrible cramps. If I don't go before my next appt on 2/4, I'm having her do it again.
calliope wouldn't it be awesome if cxts gave us a PP 6 pack??
My spam - back at my DH's office today to finish up their bookwork from 2014. I'm hoping that I'm not here very long today. I was up all night with bad cramping but no timeable contractions except a random few. Then around 8ish they let up quite a bit. At least I get some relief now. Also, DH's office is right next to a Starbucks so I definitely treated myself! I deserve it!
ChickenOnSunday -so sorry for your loss. Sending T&Ps for you and your family!
I had a really bad pregsomnia episode last night and ended up eating a bowl of cereal because I got hungry. Now I'm worried that I screwed up my sugars for the day. 36 week appointment tomorrow.. Not sure what all is planned for the appointment but I'm guessing I'll have an internal due to our L&D visit over the weekend. I hate having these pointless contractions.
babycfeb2015 It was done yesterday (39w1d) on me at 2-2.5 cm. It didn't hurt at all. I don't know if it's done anything because I still have the period-like cramping I've been having. I think I lost my mucus plug this morning though. I've had blood tinged mucousy discharge all morning (sorry if TMI). My DH is getting all excited but I'm not getting my hopes up.
I woke up feeling the urge to clean this morning. It was all I could do not to scrub the shower and toilet after using them today.
Then when I got in the car to drive to work I immediately felt like I could fall asleep. I had to roll down the window to stay awake on my 1 hour commute.
Now drinking a big coffee and hoping I make it through the work day.
You have a brand new house. How can it be dirty?
Haha, we've been there a month - the bathrooms are definitely dirty!
So sorry about your Grandpa ChickenOnSunday =( Will be thinking about you.

misshart00 that is what was happening to me too! My contractions were around 10 minutes apart, I went to the hospital and they hooked me up to the machine and they were 20 apart so they sent me home. I was so annoyed! An hour and a half later they were 4 minutes apart and by the time I got to the hospital I was fully dilated. so don't rule anything out! I hope that doesn't scare you, I just wanted you to know the contractions may come back so don't get too frustrated
Posting from north central MA, we have 24 inches of snow already. I think the snow started around 7 pm last night, so it's been going like crazy! Thankful to be snuggled up inside today with my little family! Well, soon to be snuggled up with the family. My husband has to snow blow the backyard for the dogs to go to the bathroom. LOL we can't even open up the sliding door, the snow is too high and falls into the house. Not nice for the hardwood floors!
Stay safe anyone out in this blizzard today! Our generator might get its first use today in the two years we have lived in this house!
kcrosem or anyone with experience, how long did it take to go into labor?
My LPN swept my membranes with DS at my 40+4 appointment on a Friday. I cramped on and off all day on Friday, actual contractions started Saturday night and DS was born Monday morning.
ETA: just double checked and I was off by a day.. oops. Timeline is the same. Membrane sweep, baby 3 days later
So I got the midwife to do a check (my first one ever) and I thought 'this won't hurt bc I'm sure Im already like 3 or 4'. Nope very ouchie and still closed! Wtf!
I'm so frustrated and I know it's my own fault from having the expectation that this would be like the first time - a week early, woke up to contractions, water broke, quick labour. This whole false labour, prolonged early labour...this is all new!

My doctor actually sent me to labor and delivery during my appointment today. Contractions are consistently 5 minutes apart and painful. But I'm not progressing so they sent me home. I'm very frustrated. This is the exact same thing that happened with DD. I wouldn't progress until they gave me the epidural.
ChickenOnSunday, I'm so sorry about your grandpa and that you won't be able to attend the funeral. Thinking about you!
I had a few painful contractions overnight, but nothing major this morning. DH headed off to work, I dropped DS off at daycare and started on my to-do list for the day. Now I'm having lots of contractions! FX that this means today is the day! I don't want to call DH and have him come home in case it turns out to be nothing, but I also don't want to get to the point where we're cutting it too close. Why can't these babies give us a clear cut indication of actual labor? With DS, my water broke, that was pretty clear. I have no real experience with this false labor stuff!

Just got some good news! GBS test was negative and passed my second gtt so no late onset GD! And my student was here today so I can finish testing him woohoo!
ChickenOnSunday I'm sorry for your loss, and any stressful circumstances surrounding the funeral etc.
I have my 37 week appt today. Got the nursery 99% done this weekend with the help of DH and SIL and 10yo niece (she is so excited for her only female cousin to arrive!) starting to feel like I'm just waiting now, and it's making me impatient.

I just found out that we're second on the wait list for our top choice day care.
We are holding a spot at another place, just in case. But now I'm wondering if we'll end up being able to get in. Right now the time frame is for May, but if I knew it would just be a few weeks later then I'd release the other spot I'm holding. I mean, what if I'm taking someone's spot who is holding the spot I want at our first choice?
We started out 11th in August.
Maybe I should call back and see if they have an idea of our chances.

Oh gosh, I'm so behind, haven't even looked at day care yet!

Glad to hear most of you didn't get the awful snow that was predicted!
ChickenOnSunday so sorry for your loss and that you can't travel for the services. Praying for peace for you and yours.
My spam: I'm working from home today, which has nothing to do with weather (it's actually so nice here I opened the window next to my computer) and everything to do with not driving 30 miles to work and 30 miles back when I have an inconveniently timed doctor's appointment. My favorite thing about WFH might be that I get to go to a morning yoga class instead of trying to rush back from work to make the evening one. Gonna make poppyseed chicken for supper tonight & hopefully finish off the nursery decorating! Leaving for my OB appointment soon- GBS test and possibly an internal check.
Travel ban lifted, so we are back home. DH is snowblowing the driveway, and I'm having tea. The cat is happy now that we have turned the heat up from away and is lurking on the heater.
I have a good friend due in 3 weeks(so 2ish weeks after me) who is going to beat me to the punch. Water broke this morning and they are in L+D now. Jealous.
