We had DS sleeping in our room for 5 months. I always just took him to the living room to nurse and rock back to sleep/watch TV/fall asleep in the recliner(I tried not to!). I still rock him in the living room and bring him up to his crib. I'm planning on the same thing again.
We have a small, old TV in the nursery that only gets basic cable. It was nice for middle of the night feedings. I would just watch whatever was on TV Land or TBS. It was not at all over stimulating, as you are way too tired to be overstimulated with a newborn!
I EP'd for 6 months with DD and would pump while DH did the MOTN feelings so there were frequent MOTN parties in the living room, then we'd put her back to bed and go to bed ourselves. We have a tv in our room so I imagine this time around, if I am able to nurse, I'd just have baby in our room or the living room if DH is able to sleep.
If you would use the nursery in the MOTN, I don't see anything wrong with having a tv in there. TV didn't get stimulating to DD until she was about 3 or 4 months I think? So you have some time.
I wouldn't. I'd think the light at night can be distracting for LO, I would sometimes play on my phone but mostly I just tried to nurse DD at night with as little entertainment as possible because I wanted to be able to fall back to sleep as quickly as possible.
IMO turning on a TV in the middle of the night is a bad idea. Babies don't understand night vs day and that is just going to make it harder for them to figure it out. I do zero stimuli for MOTN- feed in the dark and back to bed.
I think we put LO in his room around 8 weeks. We all slept better. I never considered putting tv in the nursery. I kept all the lights off minus a night light during feedings. I would be afraid the noise and light would be a source of stimulation. I just had my phone and checked the board, and facebook
This exactly, except we moved DD to her room at 10 weeks. I'm not in favor of TVs in bedrooms, and beyond that, I also wanted to keep the room free of stimulation so that going back to sleep would be easy and I/baby wouldn't get used to the light or noise.

2011 pregnant me would have been like "WTF? NO!" 2012-post-baby-me would have been like "OMG! BEST IDEA EVER." I think it probably depends on the kid. If your kid's totally chill, eats, goes right back to sleep, then you're probably best not disturbing your own ability to go back to sleep after the midnight feeding. If your kid needs bouncing or rocking or soothing or white noise, or takes likes six years to be able to be laid back down because of reflux, then definitely put that tv in there.

After being up in the MOTN for the last 2 years with the DD (yes she still gets up in the MOTN) I would love a tv for her room with a rocker because sometimes she has meltdowns sometimes a tv will divert her attention from whatever is making her so upset. There's been times that she cries so hard to the point she is shaking. Yes the toddler tantrums are that fun. Right now we don't have a rocker or a tv in her room and we take her into the living room. Then the room has to be dark and quiet and we try to calm her down before turning on the tv. My teen doesn't come out much because of that. So if I had DD's room set up I wouldn't have to disrupt any late night family members.
