That stinks. I would be mad.
I am not on Facebook and am always amazed to find out that my family members are posting things about me and my kids, including photos, without my permission. I'm thisclose to telling my sisters that they aren't allowed to take photos of my kids anymore. There is a reason we aren't on Facebook. We like our privacy. I eish our families would respect that!

That's really shitty. I don't really think its an older person though, I think its just a thoughtlessness thing. Luckily no one has done that to me (yet) but I think my mom is itching too. I warned her as soon as I told her though.
Maybe it's because it's new and exciting to them? Or they just straight up don't understand. I noticed my mom posting things I consider private on Facebook. I am not sure she is thinking bout how public it really is.
I also noticed that older people don't always understand waiting to share the news with everyone. My MIL and FIL really didn't understand. They have rescpeted our wishes but asked lots of questions about why.

O.M.G. Why?!?!? I'm so sorry she did that!
My mother has at least had the decency to only spill the beans one person at a time... (Seriously, I think I'm just lucky she doesn't know how to facebook. She has approximately zero filter right now...)
It's not just old people. DH's coworker put on facebook that I was in labor when most of my family didn't even know yet. And I didn't even have DD until the next day.
Ugh that sucks I'm sorry. We are so busy lecturing teens about Internet safety, we forget to talk to our parents about privacy and the Internet!
Not Internet related, but someone told my MIL's parents. So naturally everyone knows now. Imagine my surprise when I came into my MIL's restaurant to say hey to DH and grab a bite to eat, and a ton of women are all "CONGRATULATIONS!" I'm like SHHHHHHH!!
