Am I the only one who has one boob who has low productivity? I can get a good 4 ounces out of Righty, but Lefty will only give a little more than an ounce.
Yep, but Left is the big producer. Left is also more volatile and is the one that got mastitis. Before nursing, my boobs were just boobs. Now I feel like they have personalities, sensitivities, preferences. I will never look at them the same way. But then, I'm weird.

Me. Exactly this. Mine started acting up after I got mastitis in the right with DS1 and it never evened back out. My boobs have been noticeably lopsided for almost 3 years.

My right is lazy and gets a clogged duct frequently! I had mastitis twice because of the clogged duct. Many times the left is empty and I have to keep pumping the right so I don't get a clog!
Left boob is a chronic underproducer when I am pumping. Always. Right totally carries the team. If they were competing Left would be told to pack his knives and go.
But when I am actually breastfeeding, babe seems to prefer left. So I guess it evens out?

My lefty is a lazy bum too! There is a little size difference that bugs me to death. V prefers to eat from the right, so I try to pump on the left while she eats. Multitasking!
My left side is more productive in general. When I was ovulating, I could always feel my left ovary and yes, lefty is the only one working hard for the money.
My left side is my good side. I always thought it was because I sleep on my tummy with more of my weight on the right side. I also tend to get plugged ducts on that side.
Overachieving right side over here. My first pump at work today (granted, the last feeding a few hours earlier had been from the left), I got 5 ounces from the right and 2.5 from the left. The second pump I got about 1.5 from the left but most of the pumping time nothing was coming out of that side.
I feel like there must be a reason one side dominates - and why it's THAT side for each person - but I've never seen a reason why or been able to figure one out.

My LC said one boob tends to produce more and that it's pretty normal but as to which boob it is, there's no obvious reason.
The weird thing is that mine have switched! Way back in weeks 3-5 when I was pumping and supplementing it was righty that was power boob. I'd get maybe half an ounce out of lefty and 1.5 out of righty.
We've been EBF since about six weeks. Now I'm back to work and lefty is powerboob. Routinely putting out 1.5-2oz to vs 1oz or less from righty. Switcheroo!
