What was your go to? My poor Dd is super red and irritated because she's sick and cutting teerh and had 5 poopy diapers today! My DS didn't get rashes often but this one is bad. Help please
First, stop using speed (haha, dumb auto correct! Obviously I mean wipes, not speed!! I totally had to leave this one) and only use a warm wet washcloth. Word will irritate it more.
The free times Joey ever got a rash it was bad, really bad, open sores on her butt bad....
I used butt paste, but under it did a later of hydrocortisone. I usually would do the hydrocortisone. A light layer of corn starch (not baby powder!), then a layer of butt paste.
Also. Plenty of bare butt time if you can. It's helps tremendously, after she's nice and clean. Before the stuff. Just help air it all out.
Calmoseptine. Best thing ever. I'll never use anything else. Good for all sorts of rashes, scraps and burns. I get it at the pharmacy at Walgreens or on Amazon.
We are actually on the tail end of this right now with Andrew. It started last week and he appears to finally be back to normal. We use Triple Paste. It was the only thing that really worked with Kayleigh as well. We alternate each change with that or a good thick layer of vaseline (ie, one change he gets the paste, the next he gets the vaseline). Since it was the teething diarrhea that was causing the rash, and we couldn't tell he went because it didn't smell at all, we just made sure to constantly check his diaper and change him every two hours to make sure he wasn't sitting in it. Also, the first couple nights we put some baking soda in his bath to help neutralize the rash a little bit. After 2-3 days it looked much better and this morning it was all gone.

Blot with a damp cloth instead of wiping. If it's really bad, use a spray bottle with warm water to get her clean, blot dry (again, no wiping). Super thick layer of ointment (we used maximum strength desitin). Some people swear by using Maalox as an ointment then a layer of desitin or A&D. Supposedly it neutralizes the acidity in the poop. Lots of bare butt time, preferably outdoors in the sunshine if it's nice out. Good luck, rashes are horrible.

Maalox. It helps stop the burning from the diarrhea. I believe it was maalox, Mr whatever(starts with a b) butt paste and a&d mixed together. Gage had rota virus and that was what finally helped.
Desitin is the only thing that worked for us but honestly what worked the very best was nothing. Keep her very very dry. After each bath we would dry him off and let him air out in a towel. After dirty diapers as few wipes as possible and no wipes at all was best. Then we would change his diaper every 30-60 minutes, each time letting him be naked for a while. I found out that putting too much stuff on was just making it worse.
My niece had this for a while and it turned out to be a yeast infection so that might be the case with girls if it doesn't go away soon.

Burt's Bees diaper cream is my favorite. We tried a ton with A and that was the winner. T gets really bad poop rashes and 1 or 2 applications of Burt's Bees clears it up. When they were little, we'd use Aquaphor for a barrier if there was no rash, helped keep the poo from sitting on the skin.
