Thanks ladies! I'll definitely be thinking about it. Benjamin is my top choice, but H is still trying to push some others. We already used our favorite boy name so we are having a hard time finding one we love just as much!

We have a boy name picked out as it is a family name - William Dawson and we will use Will as the nickname. As for girls, we might have a problem with that. It took us forever to choose DDs name and I kknd of settled with her middle name because I was afraid she would be unnamed when she was born.
My favorites for a girl include Jordyn, Brin, Quinn, and Alaina. I like Grace for a middle name or Quinn might be the middle name if I get my way.

DH won't talk names until after the anatomy scan, but I have long lists already! If it's a girl I really want a name beginning with the letter C so the baby can share initials with my mother. My favorites are Cecily, Catherine, and Carys.
I'm all over the place with boys. Oliver is my favorite, but it's gotten so popular that I'm a bit turned away by it now. I also like Levi, Miles, and Leo.

We have the exact same boy favorites!! It kills me how popular Oliver has gotten.

summerdonna Connor is also our current boy front runner but there have been a lot of names thrown out there. With DS we had his name picked out years prior and it's the only name that really clicked with both of us (it's Ryan). This time around will be way harder.
Top girl choice now is Malia. I like the name but it honestly bothers me that me, DH and this new baby would all have M names and Ryan would be the only R name. Is that a weird reason to avoid it? Maybe I'll feel differently if we decide for sure that we will not be done after this baby.

We don't tell people IRL for two reasons. I don't want their opinion and "I'm so changeable". After DS was born, if there had been a second baby it definitely would have been a Nathaniel. But, now it's like third on my list.
For a boy: Daniel Nathaniel Jacob Henry
For a girl: Evangeline Abigail (..but we have a cat with that name so we'll see..) Jane

We have a boy name picked..
We were team green last time so it's pretty much the name we didn't get to use except a little different. We were going to name our first after my dad either way so our girl name was after my dads first name in combo with mine and my moms middle name as a middle which is what we used.. Our boy name was my maiden name and a name we loved from DH's family tree.
So since my daughter got her first name from my dad..our boy name is now the name we loved from DH's family tree Holden and we will probably use Michael as a middle. It's a family name on both sides...DH's uncle is Michael plus it's my dad's middle and my brothers name too even though my brother hasn't seen our family since like 1998ish...
For a girl this time I'm clueless. We loved my daughters name so much when I first mentioned it..it was like immediately we knew that was the one so I'm just having a hard time with another girl name

My brother's first and middle initial is B.J. It's still his nickname in the family today, and he's 27. We never had a problem with anyone being perverted with it, except his closest friends teasingly but they called him that too. #personalanecdote
As for us, we have a few family names in the running, but nothing definite yet.

I know a few BJs so that aspect doesn't bother me, just adding the s on for the third initial- wanted to know if it makes it worse or if it doesn't matter. Thanks for chiming in though. I appreciate the anecdote.

Girl: Amelia Claire or Claire Violet (does that sound too much like "clairvoyant"?)
Boy: Parker or Theodore... no middle names yet. I'm not sold on any of these names though. I have one son, Benjamin, so I tend towards classic names and while I love Parker, I don't think it's classic like Ben is.
Names get extra tough when you have a 5 syllable very-Italian sounding last name. Benjamin *Ourlastname* is long, but I still love it

I'm now having a really hard time with Carmen as a first name for a baby girl (don't know what we are having yet). But it's my FIL's name (yes, his name really is that feminine) and I don't know that I want to honor him! He's made some parts of my DH's life SO difficult. Miles' name doesn't honor the family at all. Our last name is going to be carried on no matter what by DS! So now I need to figure out a way to tell DH this. But I don't know that I want Cora either (my grandma's name) because I don't want to honor one side and not the other.
But I don't know what other girl names I like that are good in both English AND Portuguese! Because DS's name is NOT great in Portuguese and I SO regret that sometimes.
babycaps, we made the conscious decision not to honor any family members. It made life so much easier. (It also helped that all our grandmothers had names we didn't want to give a child like Agnes and Margery.)
I have no experience with Portuguese, but just looked up at a list, and there's several on there that I wouldn't hate.
We've decided to throw Penelope into the mix for a girl. I can't get over how cute the nickname Penny would be on a little girl, plus she would have a more "serious" name to fall back on.

Dana is a fine name... Just lurking to make sure you know that.

I haven't changed much on boy names since we were talking about them for DS. Samuel is my top, but DH vetoed it last time. Nathanael was our runner up, so that's probably a top contender if it's another boy. If it's a girl, I like Morgan and I think DH still does too, but we won't talk until after the AS.
