Hey ladies! I'm in sort of a dilemma. I applied for a temp service thinking I'd get a few part time jobs interested in me. After all I did put that preference in my application. Well I received a call 2 days later about a full time job- at a company I've been trying to get on at for like 6 years!!
I'm so happy and sad all at once! I wanted to either work part time or be a SAHM. It would keep me from absolutely needing a full time daycare.
So I'm internally fighting myself! I've always wanted to stay at home with my children for the first couple of years BUT this is a top pharm/ science company.
The hours are also sort of a problem but I can suck it up just to get my foot in the door. 5am to 1pm. Not too bad, the problem is, it's right in between DS sleep schedule of night nursing. Also SOs work hours could be an issue as they're ever changing.
I haven't gotten the job yet but I'm afraid if they offer it...

I can't offer too much advice bc I don't have Henry in daycare yet, my mom is watching him, so I don't have to worry about paying or being with strangers (this will change as we need to move soon). I've always wanted to be a SAHM, and if we could afford it I would be now. But I also am not doing my dream job and don't particularly love it other than I get to work with my friend everyday.
my Dh's hours are in a similar situation to your FI and I was stressed about both our hrs. When I was going over how this would work out, my mom told me that babies are pretty resilient. if you need to adjust their schedules slightly in order to make it work, they'll adjust.
I think its great that you being considered for a job that you're really excited about, and I can understand having to leave your LO to work. It's been tough, but I pretty much just stare at pictures of him all day haha! I think that if you do get offered the job and decide to go for it, if you don't like being away from him you could always cut back or decided on something else.
you could always see if that schedule is flexible at all. Is WAH an option too? Definitely questions to ask after they've extended an offer (and before you accept).
Clearly this is your personal choice, but I would ask you a few questions to help you evaluate where your heart lies. How long were you planning on being part time? Like is this happening way before you're ready? How likely is it that another position at this company would open up when you are ready to go full time? Will you have child care available? I agree that shifting LO's schedule slightly should not be an issue. Congratulations on the potential offer, regardless of what you choose!

Thank you ladies ❤ it is tough and I'll be asking myself all those questions to make the best decision... If I could think of a good WAH idea/ business that I'd be good at, I'd surely do it!! But I don't think I'm good at much of the ideas out there unfortunately...
I would be very tempted. Some jobs are hard to come by. Is it a rep job? If so I would jump at it as it will become more flexible which is perk down the road.
One of the companies I would consider going FT to has an on site daycare. Do they have anything like this?
Also, it may be in the middle of feeds now, but in a few months things may change.
I probably gave you more to think about than answers, but I hope it helped somewhat. Good luck!

I just came back from the interview and didn't think to ask that!! Dang. I guess I can try to Google if they have on site day care. Oh if I could be a rep I'd definitely jumped on that lol but it's in the laboratory.
