Happy day off to those who have it and Happy Thanksgiving in Canada!
I've got a long day of work but thought I'd share this gem first: it's 3:30am and I was up getting ready for the day since I couldn't sleep. Returned to bed and of course woke up DS so he started nursing. Out of no where, he stops and let's out a clear and loud "Mooooo" and then goes right back to it. There were some cows at the petting zoo yesterday so I'll chalk it up to those appearing in his dreams. But yes son, I am your source of milk and thank you for reminding me my similarities to a large barnyard animal.

I have today off and DD and I are planning a little zoo trip. Wouldn't you know that the day I get to sleep in, I wake at 5 AM? And here is that nausea that I remember from last pregnancy. I am not sure whether or not to be grateful since I was worried last week by lack of symptoms or annoyed that I feel like vomiting on the day we plan to go see smelly animals at the zoo.
thehockeylady, I am laughing with you. That's too funny!
Day off day off! H and I are getting into the fun part of new homeownership. Decorating!!! We are taking it slow since we're in the replacement-of-all-our-cheap-first-apartment-stuff stage. Today we are shopping for clocks and area rugs. It's hard not to buy cute autumn stuff, but now we are investing in quality year round items that we love. Fun fun fun! Happy Thanksgiving if you're celebrating!

Happy Monday ladies! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It is finally starting to get chilly here, I am loving it.
I've been anxious the past couple of days - my MS and nausea have both basically disappeared. And sore boobs aren't as bad. I know it's common for symptoms to ease up at the end of first tri, but it still makes me nervous. Is this happening to you guys too?

I haven't actually gotten sick in 3 or 4 days. Nausea is still here off and on, but it's also making me a little anxious. :/
I'm chilling in the waiting room. There is another couple here (well several, but one in particular) who the husband speaks very basic English and the wife speaks none. They have their daughter (maybe 4 or 5?) who is trying to translate. This sounds equally terrifying to be the woman or the daughter. I can only hope the doctor speaks their language.

Yes yes! Try not to worry dear. My boob pain is barely noticeable & my morning sickness is getting better... like down to one puke per day, but it is changing for sure.
I read that STMs feel the baby sooner, that is awesome that you are already feeling the flutters!
I felt J pretty early too for a first baby, around 13 weeks. I must have a super sensitive ute.
With Carter my placenta was in the front so it took a long time to feel movement. Hoping that the placenta is in a different position (other than over the cervix) so I can feel movement sooner!

I had my first apt today and got to see baby, which was so fun! I also puked for the first time from the morning sickness so that sucked. I don't know how I am going to go to work the rest of the week when I feel this sick. It is getting worse! The entire appointment I thought i was going to throw up, but made it until getting to the sandwich place. Puked in front of eveeyone at the restaurant. Everyone stared and I said, "im pregnant, okay?!" Embarrassing. 8 weeks 2 days today.
Ruca, ditto!!! for me, SLEEP. But since i can't do that at work, it's carbs for the win. Pita Chips seem to help a lot.
Working during the first tri should be optional haha Carbs have been helping me too, isn't that wild? What about carbs helps?? Anywho all I have here for an afternoon snack is an apple ><
Any home remedies for nausea? No vomiting just feel like I'm going to. I wasn't this bad during my first pregnancy so this is new to me :/
In addition to everything k3am said, peppermint might help. Candy canes, hard candy, peppermint oil, gum, etc. It won't help much, but it can take the edge off. Helps with headaches, too.
I get the preggie pop drops at target. I use those when I'm feeling extra nauseous. 4 times I felt like running to the bathroom to puke and I've popped one of them. Sat down and breathed. They worked for me, but I know they don't for everyone. I think you have to find the combo of things that just make you feel better. For me - hot tea with lemon, preggie drops, Gatorade, and egg and cheese sandwiches.

The nausea has been hard for me this week too. No throwing up yet for me either. It starts when I wake up, and is still around when I go to sleep. I'm armed with sea bands and ginger. I keep Saltines in my purse at all times to help when I'm at work. I've found that carbs helped too, so for dinners I eat potatoes, pasta, whatever I can stomach to help the nausea at night. I'm calling my RE to get some meds tomorrow too. Good luck!
