My dd is turning one next month and I have no idea what to tell people when they ask what she wants. We have so many toys from her older brother! We also have memberships to the local kids museum and the zoo. I told people the next size up clothes but really I don't love when others pick out clothes for my kids. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Hum. What about some more girlie gifts like a doll and doll accessories (high chair, crib, bottle) or purse? Do you have LittlePeople? Dagny has always loved her Little People.

Oh or a subscription to the zoo books! They have a toddler version. I also recommend the "That's Not My" series from Usborne books (love love love Usborne books). Swim lessons? Gymboree membership?
Any movies? Aladdin just came out. There are kids purses you could get. Does your j12 kiddo have a kitchen, maybe fake food or dishes for it. I second the baby doll or doll accessories. Eliza got a cute 4 square dinner plate and a straw cup, which was nice. A stool maybe? Cleaning toys
Honestly, they are probably going to buy toys. So maybe find some that you might like and list those versus getting duplicates you already have.
I went to a kids birthday party and the parents suggested that the guests give cash. There plan was to buy one larger gift for their kid and then donate the remaining money to the Humane Society. I thought it was a good idea, because it kind of sucks for the parents when you end up with 30 new little toys that your kid will just ignore after a while.
Other ideas - maybe gift cards to a local pool or kids play area. Girlie clothes, dress-up items (she's maybe not in to that yet). I'm not sure if it's cold where you live - but winter hats, mittens etc as we are getting into the winter months.

MIL got DS2 a PB Anywhere chair for his room. We got a few toys, but most people gave us cash because that's the tradition for Korean 1st birthday and that's the kind of party we had.
If people ask me what he wants for Christmas, I really don't know. We have so much stuff already.
