It took me awhile to find you all over here, I was a lurker on the dump. I am headed into my second trimester with baby number 2 and have started the great name debate. I have a few questions and would love new suggestions as well.
DS is Bennett Scott
For a girl I have always wanted Emma Brynn. Its my grandmas name and I know it's popular but it's classic and I don't know very many. Well we found out that my husbands older brother may use the name for one of his twins. Normally I would never use the same name as my child's cousin but this brother doesn't have a relationship with the family. He lives a mile away and I've seen him twice in 7 years. I doubt the cousins will even meet. What do you think about still using Emma? Other names I like are Annabelle, Madeleine, Abigail, Audrey, or Clair. DH is so so on them.
For a boy we like Wyatt but I don't love that it ends in a double tt like Bennett, do you think they are to close? DH suggested Landon and I like it but I'm not sure I love it. I also like Reid and Parker but DH vetoed. Middle name will be Timothy after DH.
Thanks for reading my novel and I appreciate any input or advice!
Okay, you should be aware that Brynn is a Welsh masculine name with an extra n slapped on the end to try to make it more "feminine," but which actually just makes it misspelled. So I would avoid that like the plague. I wouldn't use Emma if it's already going to be in your daughter's generation of the family, regardless of closeness. I like Madeleine best out of all your names. Wyatt is not good, and neither is Landon. or Reid. Or Parker. Reid is the least objectionable. Do you want a list of name suggestions?

I would still use Emma if I really loved it. I think you have better names on your list, though. I love Madeleine, and like Audrey. I'm really not a fan of Brynn, though. It's a misspelled Welsh old man's name. It's also their word for "hill". Maybe consider Brenna or Bronwen? Neither are my style, but they're girl names, and I wouldn't side eye them.

Wyatt is nms, and I don't like that it has the same ending as your older son. I really don't like Landon; it's so trendy. I do like Reid. It's too bad it was vetoed.

Would you pronounce Noel similar to the name Joel, or is it pronounced like the girl name Noelle?
I think I would definitely consider it for my boy list if pronounced like Joel.

First, I love your sn! I have a fawn Great Dane named Sadie.
Of your girl names I like Audrey the best. I do like Emma, and it's a family name I've considered using myself, but it is still #1 in our state, so that's just a big no for me, but if you love it, use it!
I'm not very keen on any of your boy names. What about Reese/Rhys instead of Reid? Or Elliott or Atticus instead of Wyatt (if you like the that hard T sound)?

I like Wyatt a lot and don't think it's too much with Bennett.
Personally, I would not use the same name that a fmaily member was going to use. Emma is pretty, but it's really everywhere, even if you don't know many.
Could you middle name it? Audrey Emma? Clair Emma? Are you open to suggestions?
Amelia Clara Cora Margot Evelyn Vivian Natalie Maya Colette

They live a mile away and you don't think the kids will meet? It sounds like your BIL is also currently expecting, which means the kids will likely be in the same school/grade and potentially the same sports teams/activities. I wouldn't use the same name.
And I agree with you on Wyatt and Bennett being too similar for siblings.
