Tonight is my first dinner since the nausea began with someone I can't tell about the pregnancy. Obviously when I curl up on the couch and refuse anything but pretzels, DH understands. But I'll have to tough it out tonight. Hopefully my stomach behaves and I can eat tapas without looking like a weirdo.

Good luck! Everytime I've tried to eat out about 15 mins later I regret it. Hopefully your stomach will corporate.

Good luck! I thought I lucked out this pregnancy but my hard-core nausea hit yesterday. Today I got to do lunch with my in-laws followed immediately by brunch with my friends. I managed to eat two pieces of pita and one bite of French toast. Why does nausea always hit right before the really good food presents itself?
My grandma was so excited!! We showed her a picture of the ultrasound and she was like "is this what I think it is?!?" Then she said she had been wondering if she had to give MH and I instructions . Still sassy at 91. My mom got her a cake that said happy birthday great-grandma and she had tears in her eyes. Great day! And now I am ready for bed...
Hello all!! Last night was my last show and while I love doing shows I am super happy I can finally rest!! Today we are off to tell my grandma she will be a great-grandma! I am super excited! She is going to be thrilled!!
Congrats on being done!!! When do you start working on your next show? Hope you get a break!!
Thanks! I haven't committed to any yet, so I definitely get a break! I might get involved in one in late December but I will see what the schedule is like before I do.

What kind of things do you feel like you need to get done? Baby-specific things or other stuff too?
Mostly baby specific. Like get an appropriate car, finish the nursery floor(we ripped up the carpets and partially finished the hardwood but it's pretty rough looking and still has a chemical smell two months later) and get rid of all the current junk in the garage so we can fill it with baby junk.
Good luck finding a new car! I feel ya on the home projects. I like to make lists and then delegate almost everything to DH!
So I have to share this because it's halfway making me laugh and halfway making me rage. Please note that my husband is wonderful, but doesn't always have the most common sense.
I put a few chicken breasts in the crockpot this morning with some tomatoes and an Italian marinade to serve over pasta and I've been looking forward to it all day.
I wasn't feeling the greatest when we got home so I asked my husband to put the pasta on to boil while I laid down. About 15 minutes later he said "yeah, the pasta is still pretty crunchy." Realizing that something wasn't right, I went into the kitchen and saw that he had put the pasta IN THE CROCKPOT instead of boiling it on the stove. There was approximately a quarter inch of liquid in the crockpot so how in the world he thought it would cook pasta is beyond me. The result was that the pasta had soaked up all of the marinade so we were left with some lonely chicken breasts and a few tomatoes.
His blunder set dinner back by about an hour so now I'm still sitting here not eating dinner, laughing at my (dumbass) husband, and contemplating just getting takeout instead.

Haha! My husband would totally do something like this too. Nothing's simple - even making pasta!

I make quite a few crock pot recipes and there are some that actually tell you to put the noodles into the crockpot at the end (usually with more liquid than what you had though). It's always gross and never works. Sorry your pasta was ruined!

I've been AWOL all weekend as we were in Toronto for a wedding - and the weekend just ended up being really busy!!!
DD did AMAZING in the car for the long drive, both ways though - I am so relieved and happy about that. The wedding was lovely and beautiful...except the dinner went really late - we didn't finish eating until 10:30, which is a bit nuts! So we didn't get a lot of dancing in before we had to go because our babysitter couldn't stay overnight and we all know little ones don't sleep in when you need it.
I'm really glad to be home though - today has been a heavy nauseous day and it's so much better just being able to hide in my house.
Hope you all had a good weekend - I'm going to try catch up!
cattuccino, I ended up making a smoothie to hold myself over until dinner was finally ready. It still turned out pretty good, even though we ate super late last night. And then I immediately fell asleep.
