Welp, we got admitted to the hospital with Griffin because of his bilirubin levels. Pediatrician said it's probably a perfect storm between Rh incompatibility, being born a little early (37+4), and being breastfed which is slower to rid that bilirubin. Everything is going well since we've got here and I'm not stressing too bad. Just looking for fellow glow worms I guess. Anyone else have to do this?

We had to stay in the hospital 2 extra days due to high risk jaundice levels. We also prayed for poopy diapers and lower numbers. LO is 1 months today and people still comment how tan she is. See too was very soothed by the billi blanket and light. The whites of her eyes are still a touch yellow. Pedi said that took a while. In the back of my mind that still bothers me a tad. Hope y'all's stay is successful and short!
We are working in that direction. Her levels were high today so we are going in tomorrow for another check. This afternoon she got to sunbathe for about 30 minutes and I need to nurse her a bit more often through the night. If it doesn't get better by tomorrow morning she is headed for the bili lights. I know it typically is easy to resolve, but my anxiety level is through the roof.

Hugs cnbpa3027. If it's any consolation this hospital stay has been incredibly easy so far. The hardest part is the anxiety leading up and watching the nurses prick and squeeze LO's heel. We did everything we were told to do to the nth degree and it was just inevitable I guess.
We went through this with DD1, & I'm taking DD2 for another level check this AM. She still looks a little yellow but she's been nursing & having lots of dirty diapers so I'm hoping the number is low (was 11.1 at discharge).

We weren't admitted, but we did have a bili blanket here at home. It took several days after we were home for LO's dirty diapers to go from black and tarry to yellow and seedy. He was on the bili blanket for about 4 days. Good luck to you guys!

ETA: good luck to you & Griffin
We finally got to spring out of the hospital yesterday evening with levels at 11.5. How did your follow up go? Levels stay low?
Great news about Griffin, forevermyfenix!!! You must be so happy to have him home. I remember how hard it was when DD1 had to stay. DD2's level went up to 13 but her pediatrician wasn't concerned enough to treat or retest. He just said to call if she started looking more yellow. She's already looking way less yellow!
