So we are still TTC #2. However, we actually started names discussions since we had such a difficult time naming DD. It seems as though it will be even more difficult this time since it is very important to me that the name flows well with DD's name.
So what you need to know. - DD is Maren Christine. - Our last name ends with an "ah" sound so I have found that most names that end with and A do not flow/sound the best. I still have a some on our list though. - I really detest nicknames. So names that have common or obvious nicknames are not my favorites. - I like names that are less popular (so not in the top #250 or so), but still easily enough recognized/pronounced/spelled. - MN for Girl could be either Rose or Isobel - MN for a Boy will be Gerald (so most J names do not work)
Current Contenders:
Girls:Blair (favorite at the moment) Carys Sloane Sabrina Piper Raigan Celeste Raina Selene Isobel (I think too popular for a FN)
Boys: Toren (concerned it sounds too close to DD's name) Holden Blaine Calder Asher (a little too popular I think) Vaughn
I like your suggestions of Daphne and Iris for girls, although Iris is growing in popularity. DH will probably hate Daphne, but I am going to add it the list. And I like Anton and will add that to our boys list also.
Oookay, well for a girl I like Carys, and Celeste is nice. Isobel is the best, but it is pretty popular, so if that's a deal breaker then so be it. The rest are either misspelled, unattractive, or really, really nms. Girl suggestions:
Bronwen
Sabine/Sabina
Perpetua
Rhiannon
Simone
Alice
Anwen
Leto
Beatrix
Francis
Juliet
Lenore
Thetis
For a boy... let's just jump straight to suggestions!

Dane Gerald
Arthur Gerald
Cedric Gerald
Raphael Gerald
Ronan Gerald
Orson Gerald
Myron Gerald
Harlan Gerald
Edmund Gerald
Calvin Gerald
Simon Gerald
Orrin Gerald
Oren Gerald
My mistake it should have been spelled Torin.
I have loved Bronwen for awhile too, but DH is not a fan. I do like Sabine and simone and will add them to our girl list.
I appreciate Boy suggestions too, but nothing is really jumping out as something I love/would use.

Gotcha, I like Torin a lot! Also, yay for liking Sabine - I've always loved the name but it's never seemed to get much traction on the board.

Do you think Torin is too matchy with Maren as a sister? I do really like the name and meaning.
Not at all. If you had a third one that ended in -n I would say it was getting a little cheesy, but with just two they really aren't similar enough for it to seem like you're trying to do something cute.

I'm going to play keep, toss, add with these:
Blair - TOSS Carys - keep, add Clara Sloane - TOSS far, far away Sabrina - keep Piper - toss Raigan - TOSS. I don't even know what this is. Celeste - toss, add Colette Raina - toss, add Ruby Selene - toss, add Sabine Isobel - KEEP! this is by far the best one on your list

Girls: Blair- TOSS. This name is so unattractive. Carys- Keep. Sloane- TOSS. Seriously, this name is ugly and so harsh. Sabrina- Keep. It's not really my style, though. Piper- TOSS. Another unattractive and harsh name. Raigan- TOSS. Misspelling of a dead controversial president, and time-stamped to boot. Celeste- Keep. Raina- TOSS. I know it's legit, but it seems made up. Selene- Keep, as long as you're going to pronounce it correctly. If you're wanting se-LEEN, go with Celine. Isobel- Keep. Love this name, and this spelling is not in the top 1000.
Anwen Isobel Aeronwy Isobel Eve Isobel Isolde Rose Juniper Isobel Juno Isobel June Isobel Laurel Isobel Noelle Rose Niamh Isobel Odette Rose Phoebe Isobel Rosalind Isobel Rose Isobel (This is actually at #224, and would be so refreshing in the fn spot. Rose Isobel is so lovely.) Simone Isobel Therese Isobel Winter Isobel Zephyrine Rose
Boys: Toren- Toss. Way too matchy with Maren, and it's misspelled. Holden- Toss. Also matchy with Maren. Blaine- Toss. Sounds like a pretentious douchebag. Calder- TOSS. No. Just no. Asher- Keep. This is the only one on the list I would even think of keeping. Vaughn- Toss. Too ln as fn for me.
Arthur Gerald Archer Gerald Alasdair Gerald Alistair Gerald Benedict Gerald Cormac Gerald Conall Gerald Etienne Gerald Frederick Gerald Graeme Gerald (Graham spelling is at #203) Hamish Gerald Ivor Gerald Judah Gerald Louis Gerald Leopold Gerald Leander Gerald Lucian Gerald Milo Gerald Malcolm Gerald Noel Gerald Niall Gerald Peter Gerald (This one is at #208, but has actually been slowly falling in recent years) Philip Gerald Rhys Gerald Seth Gerald Scott Gerald

Celeste and Carys are my favorite girl names. Asher, then Blaine, are probably my favorites from your boy list.
Raigan is baaad. Maren Christine is gorgeous, don't saddle a kid after that with Raigan.
ETA: There were a lot of good suggestions thrown in. I do love Adrian for a boy, I will add Julian, Arlo, Oscar, and Otto to the suggestions unless I missed them somewhere.
I'm bored so I'll play Keep/Toss/Add too, but my name opinions tend to divert from the group a bit:
Girls: Blair (favorite at the moment) (KEEP -- This one is on our list as well, I like it, suggestion also of Brett if you want to name after a Hemingway character) Carys (Toss - not a fan, and gaining in popularity around here. Someone else suggested Colette or Clara though, those may be nice Adds) Sloane (Meh - I'll say Toss, but this is a GP name for me too. ADD perhaps Sacha Soairse (sp?) Sian) Sabrina (Keep - I think it's a pretty name, NMS but decent) Piper (Toss - too trendy) Raigan (Toss - Reagan maybe as an alternative) Celeste (Toss just 'cause for me- Add Cecily? Tessa?) Raina (Toss - it feels like a clunky name for me) Selene (Keep - I think it's pretty, Selena is also good, if you like names with French sounds perhaps Celine, or Severine (both should have an accent on the 2nd e). Isobel (I think too popular for a FN) (Keep - but I think it's overdone these days with all the Isabella/Ella/Elle derivatives)
Boys: Toren (concerned it sounds too close to DD's name) (Toss Toren, but keep your spelling correction of Torin - I like it, but I also named my daughter Tavin, so I am a fan of "T---n" names.) Holden (Keep - lovely name) Blaine (Toss - perhaps put Blair on your boy's list too?) Calder (Toss -- makes me think of Culver's) Asher (a little too popular I think) (SO Popular -- Toss for this reason) Vaughn (Keep - I like it)
We're a queer family with some bad fertility issues. I'm 32, have dimished ovarian reserve, and my partner-love ("healz413") has severe endo. We did Partner IVF (her eggs, my uterus) for our first babies. Our beautiful twin daughters, Tavin & Casey, were born in June '14 too premature at 21 weeks to survive - We miss them.
Our double-rainbow baby "E" - otherwise known as "Rocky 3" was born in August of 2015. She's wonderfu.
If Torin is the option, then that wins for boys for me!!
Blair (favorite at the moment) -- meh, it's ok Carys -- Love it and lovely with Isobel for a middle name Sloane -- not a fan but not horrid Sabrina -- hate it Piper -- hate it Raigan -- hate it Celeste -- very nice Raina -- toss Selene -- It's ok Isobel (I think too popular for a FN) -- I love this spelling but agree, very popular.
Boys: Toren (concerned it sounds too close to DD's name) -- see my comment about Torin and no, I don't think it's too close Holden - Toss Blaine - Seriously, toss. You're not naming a comic book villain Calder - Not my style Asher (a little too popular I think) -- I like this ok Vaughn -- Like

Blaine was one of my great grandfather's name so that is how it made our list. Getting a little pressure to pick something from that side of family and I find Blaine much more preferable to my other choices of Ferman or Manly....but I digress
I love Caleb, but I feel a little popular. I will be adding Elias and Callum.
For girls...I am ditching Raigan/Reagan for sure, and adding a few others that posters have suggested. I do like Cicily and Severine. Isobel would be in honor of one of my grandmother's, but s very unlikely I would use as FN due to current popularity.
