Yes, I'm posting the Randoms thread at 4am. I've been up for several hours. I think I have a fever and my throat hurts so badly that I can't swallow. Whhhhhy?! I did just toast myself an Englush muffin because if I'm going to be awake, might as well not be starving!!
Ahhh, sorry you're sick, txmommy14!! Hope you feel better soon!
I have an eye doc appointment this morning, and I'm nervous and totally gonna be Rachel in Friends when they try to do the glaucoma test. I'm dreading it, actually. "DON'T PUFF AIR IN MY EYES!!!" says the girl who has been stuck with a needle 4 zillion times in the last year. I know. I'm irrational.

Good luck, at my last visit, they didn't do the puff test. Not sure if they used some new technology, or of its just not done as a standard test anymore. I hope you don't have to do it!
I am happy to report that I am feeling a lot better this morning and after DH and I only getting a couple hours of sleep Sunday night and DD waking so early we all got a good nights rest! DD passed out at 6:30 last night and slept till 6:10! I thought for sure she would be up early. It was glorious! Just happy what I had was a bug and not some new unpleasant form of morning sickness! For those who are throwing up you have my sympathy!!
Also last night I remembered something that helped while pregnant with DD.. When I was real nauseous I would heat up my corn bag and put it on my upper stomach/chest and it really helped calm the reflux! It's my new best friend.

Blood tests today! It's the first baby related appointment I have had yet. I know it's just lab corp and they will do and tell me nothing but for some reason I'm nervous. I also think we are telling my mom tonight and I'm super nervous about that!!!
My LO only woke up twice last night- it was awesome. My H had to get up for work a bit earlier than normal and LO was actually still asleep so we both got to sleep in until 8. And the best part was my H stopped at the cafe and got me breakfast!
teggy20, the air puff is pretty old technology. Hopefully your practice has gotten with the times. The glaucoma tests now are easy-peasy. They numb your cornea with drops and take your pressures without you even knowing it happened.

Tell your eye doctor that you are KU. Mine wouldn't use any of the numbing, dilating or any other kind of medicated drops on pregnant girls!!
I'll be back later to read and post more, but I just wanted to share with you all that I totally just used the men's bathroom at chick-fil-a by accident! I wasn't paying attention or something.
We told family yesterday. We'll DH did first. I knew he was going to tell his dad because he'd been wanting too, but then he was talking about spreading the word to extended people and called MIL. So I had to call my family because MIL can't keep her mouth shut. We had talked about telling people after the first appointments if we got good news, heard the heartbeat, etc. But it was too early to hear so I figured we would put it off until that appointment, but DH apparently didn't get the memo. So now I'm freaking out a bit.
It's been years since I've gotten my eyes checked (tsk tsk, I know), so I'm so happy to hear that, pbandj714!! Ooh, Flair Underwood, I like the sound of that...! Thanks, titania! I'm the biggest baby of all the babies.. I'm sure it'll be fine.
athn64, Within an hour of me telling my dad, all of my South American family had been informed of the news. Sigh.
I have been weirdly weepy the last couple of days. Last night I sobbed cause I was spooning with Zeus Antonio (yorkie extraordinaire) and I started thinking that when my belly got bigger he couldn't cuddle up close to me any more when we were sleeping. And then I felt guilty about ruining his life and I lost my shit. Like ugly crying and hiccups and all that jazz.
And then this morning, MH reminded me that we are heading to the mountains with 2 other couples in about a month. I picked out this house pre-pregnancy and it has the most AMAZING hot tub on the side of the mountain. Then I remembered that I can't use the hot tub and started crying. I need to get my shit together.
Andrea, I cry at everything... like this morning I saw a gum commercial and tears were streaming down my face. I almost cried at work last week...not good.
Dreaming I'm struggling with the same thing. I keep looking at maternity pants online but I mentally don't want to wear them yet. Plus I bet most women at work will recognize them no matter how sneaky I try to think I am.
I'm totally wearing maternity pants today and I feel great - well, minus the nausea and dry heaving this morning. But my belly isn't feeling pinched in my jeans, so that's a win in my book!
I also told a coworker today and it felt good to tell someone outside of my family, and gave me a little break from the PGAL brain this morning.

Y'all, my husband left this morning for London for three days! I'M NOT COOKING FOR ANYBODY AND I'M GOING TO TAKE UP THE WHOLE BED AND IT'S GONNA BE GLORIOUS

andrea, talk to your doctor about the hot tub. With my last pregnancy, my OB said hot tubs and baths were fine at certain temps for certain periods of time. I can't remember if trimester mattered, but it's worth a call if it means you get some extra relaxation on your trip.

virginiaorjohn, Score! There should be some upside to your partner being away. My husband works out-of-town half the week and is gone Mon & Tues nights every week. I always sleep in the middle of the bed those nights, and my two kitty cats always curl up next to me. It's a ritual we have to combat the loneliness

The one about the engagement, cause that one had me sobbing on Sunday.

I have been starfishing since Saturday. Mine is out out of town for business until tomorrow.

This, plus you can always dip you're legs in and sit on the edge. Or get a stool or something so your not totally emerged! I think the risk is just that you will overheat so as long as your aware of how long you are in the tub and not overdo it, you should be okay.
