We were matched and met with a little girl. She is 7 and is gorgeous. Wish could show pictures but you all know how it goes with FTA. We met a completely different child from what we read on reports. I mean, yes, she has a lot going on but behind all those reports, we saw a beautiful, smart, playful, and musical girl. We will start transition soon which will include coupke therapy sessions and couple respite care weekend but they really wanna move her by Christmas due to school break. We are sooo looking forward to having her. ..I just realized how much we complain about how long adoption process takes. This girl waited 7 years to find a family. 6 of those years were like hell. The 1ish year we wait is nothing compared to how much she has been waiting. Now we are glad she is in a good foster home. Her foster mom is wonderful and we agreed she will be "the nana" but it is time for this girl to get out of the system.
Congrats!!! Good luck with the transition! I mentioned in the other post, but I love that you are keeping your DD's strengths at the fore front of your mind! It will great to continue to view these and remember these during the challenging times. All the best!

Congratulations! It warms my heart to hear parents focusing on a kiddos positives attributes as it is often easier to label or focus on the more negative things. It sounds like you have a great plan to transition and I hope everything works out. It's heartwarming to think that she will get to spend the holidays with her new family
Well, she has been in the system for 6 years, but she was with a foster that said would adopt her and her brother for 3 years which turned out bad... It has been a year since she has removed from that foster and SW started to look for a family for her and her brother...
