Our dog stinks. He has for years. We have tried medicine and baths and new food. Nothing works. I have known be stinks for years and 90% of the tome H tells me he disagrees. Now that the heat is on (we have forced air heat) he says "i think its the heating vents that stink not the dog." HELLO. Our dog has been filling our house with his stinky dander for years OF COURSE all of the vents and pipes are full of his nasty stinky dander and skin cells so when they get warm and our blown throughout the whole house YES it is worse and more Noticable.
He disagrees with me. He is so wrong. I want to scream.
My husband keeps getting delayed on his job in Mexico, and now it's looking like he might not make it back by Thanksgiving. I will cry big fat ugly tears if that happens. He will essentially have been gone the entire first trimester (except one week at 6 weeks). It's not his fault and he hates it, too, it's just so upsetting because I need him here. I hope he gets a new job and gets out of oil and gas someday.
On another note, it's 8:15am and my 1 year old is still asleep (he went to bed at 730 pm). Amazing.

Flair Underwood, we had a stinky dog when I was growing up. Sweetest dog in the world but she smelled SO bad. Sorry about your stinky dog.
Anyone else having hand cramps? It doesn't feel like carpal tunnel to me, just cramps in the middle of my palm every once in a while when I grab something. So annoying.
Flair Underwood, We have a dog with really bad breath. I think we should probably treat it somehow? I'm not really sure what to do, but it's grossing me out and all he wants to do is breathe all over me. Poor dog!
We have an early ultrasound tomorrow and I'm actually more excited than nervous. I have been feeling awful and exhausted and even though I know from experience that these symptoms don't mean that I am not having a loss, it is making me feel better so I am rolling with it.
txmommy14, sorry that his return date might get pushed back. Do you get to talk to him much while he's away?
I won't get to communicate with him at all once he gets on the offshore oil rig soon, but for now we can text and FaceTime late at night when he gets home (no voice calling).

That's tough I'm sure. I hope he gets to come home soon!

I would die.
Is it worth trying to clean your duct system? Trying different filters? We had ours cleaned last year when we moved in. That sounds hella gross. And frustrating with your H
txmommy14 I'm sorry - I can't imagine how hard it is with H away and the dates keep changing. I hate when h is doing 14 HR days or weekends away, never mind over a month. Gah.
txmommy14, I am sorry, that really sucks. I get irrationally annoyed when my H comes home 10 minutes late because I asked him to stop at the store, so I can only imagine. Hope he gets to come home in time for Thanksgiving!
txmommy14 that sucks! I hope he comes home sooner!
I can believe I made it to Thursday! Work is SO stressful & a bunch of my coworkers are afraid of a lay off. I woke up in a panic thinking that our credit card bill was much much higher than it actually is. Had to log on and double check. Finances are now messing with my sleep. I hate worrying about money.

cattuccino, we rent... so I'm not willing to pay the money to have the duct work cleaned but maybe a filter would be enough to keep H from complaining. I swear, the worst part of the whole thing is that H complains about it once in a blue moon. The vet said it could be a food allergy but their only solution was this dog food that is $82 for a 20 pound bag. My dog eats 2 cups of food a day. No thank you.
txmommy14, I'm so sorry your H is gone for so long!! When he comes home, is he back for good??

I'm so sorry - this must be so difficult for you! My husband is always out of town 3 days/week for work and we really struggle with it (especially him - he came home last night and all he wanted to do was snuggle and kept saying over-and-over "it's so good to be home" and "I hate being away"). But I have to remind us that so many couples deal with this, and some (like you) have an even worse deal. It's so hard to find a balance between a good job that pays the bills and having quality time together as a family. I hope you can find a solution that works for you!
txmommy14 that is really hard. My husband travels a lot for work and works really late hours so I feel like a single mama a lot. The good news is you'll really appreciate the time when he is there.
Flair Underwood, you're supposed to change filters twice a year, is that on you or the landlord? - and clean ducts every 4 or something. I'd recommend getting your landlord to do it but he might be an ass and say it's your dog so you have to. Filters aren't outrageously pricey so maybe trying a higher quality filter might help. I hope it does!

Edited some spelling...
I woke up to a higher credit card bill than expected ? I completely forgot about my Gap order the other day, and some Christmas presents I've already got

txmommy14 I'm sorry about your husband. That sucks.
soultrane yes!!! It started with my first and hasn't really gone away. Lots of hand massages!
Flair Underwood our dog is the stinkiest dog ever. It's allergies but nothing we've done helps and I can't have him on steroids all the time. It's fucking nasty but we love him. We never had this issue with our older dog. She never smelled, but the younger one--woof. No food change has helped. We spent two years trying out different foods, 8 weeks at a time. Such a waste.

Oh man, that stinks! It's so hard when your partner travels. Even though you're with your parents I know it's not the same. My H travels a lot but at the most 2-3 weeks. I hope he's here before thanksgiving!

Oh I'm so sorry! That totally sucks. Hopefully he will make it back. My sister's boyfriend also works in oil and gas as an engineer on oil tankers, and is gone for about 3 months at a time - it is so hard. And his jobs are always getting delayed as well, which totally sucks. I don't blame you for wanting YH out of that industry
I'm sorry so many of you have stinky dogs! My dog smells fantastic all in all, but she also rips farts like it's her job. They are rank. Sometimes she even wakes herself up with them. Lol, so gross!

I'm trying to spread out my buying of Christmas presents so I don't get hit all at once like last year. Last year was quite a sticker shock!

origamimommy,YESSSSS. I'm so glad I'm not alone, but it is embarrassing. Before I'm willing to let anyone into my house I do a thorough clean down of the walls, floors, dog bedding. And i feel like it's sad because I won't let him on the couch or the bed and I don't even want to touch him that much. I HATE it. Steroids are the only thing that help, but that's only short term.
txmommy14, sorry about your DH being away, that sounds really hard. Will he be back home for long when he does return? If it were me I'd plan a home coming Thanksgiving meal if things don't work out (although having him home will be special enough I'm sure)
My good news for today is that I got a second interview for a job a really want! The first interview was with the person who would be my manager and with the rest of his direct reports on the team. Interview tomorrow is with his director.
Boo to all the smelly dogs. We had a dog once whose breath was so bad no matter what we did. Like I wanted to die or barf or faint whenever he would pant in my direction.
