I woke up this morning to sunshine after three straight days of rain. And the terrible cramps I had yesterday seem to have abated. I think it will be a good day!!! Happy Friday everyone!
Vomited for the first time this pregnancy this morning. It was about 20 minutes after taking my thyroid meds...not sure if I should take more...I thought I was beyond this stuff at 11 weeks. Hopefully this was just a one time thing.
I'm taking the girls to my parents after preschool today, and spending the night. DH should finally be home tomorrow evening. Yay. But I know he's going to be exhausted and have trouble with the 8 hour time change.
I have a cold and can't stop coughing. It's hurting my back, head, and I can't sleep. The worst part is um. "Leaking". Ugh. I hate being sick. I need to make sure I don't have a fever but I don't want to get out of bed.
On the good side, I got my new iPhone last night and it's really pretty!!
Eta. I checked. Super tiny tiny fever 98.9 so that's good.
shoogars, I'm sorry Hopefully it was a one time thing. I threw up in the shower this morning and my first thought was I thought I was supposed to getting over this now! That app said my symptoms should be waning! Stupid lying ovia!

I'm so sorry you are sick! FX you start feeling better soon!
I'm feeling quite blah this morning. I have a migraine hangover. Horrible migraine yesterday and last night, I was In bed at 7:30 but couldn't even sleep.
Sorry about you mamas still getting sick. My MS actually got worse at 12 weeks before going away last time...

Add me to the "threw up for the first time this morning" list. I think i was too hungry since it was just dry heaves but it did NOT feel good.
Yesterday was a LOOONG day but my work event went well and it's OVER. I need to look at my hours I need to work today- but I'm hoping that I can get done what i need to, leave early and get a nap in before picking up DD at daycare. I miss her little face though. she's the sweetest. When i was heaving this morning she got me a blanket for me. I love her heart.

nitecheese, I'm totally with you on needing to eat all the time! I'm always nauseous within 30 min of when I last ate. I've taken to buying my lunch first thing in the morning when I'm at work and eating it very slowly over the entire day. I really can't complain too much though because this strategy has managed to keep my nausea at bay so far... and I've made it to 10.5 weeks.
It's not quite 10:30 am and I just ordered pizza and breadsticks.
Suddenly I'm obsessed with the idea of eating dominos. I really need to stop with the fast food! My mom says she is making me healthy dinner tonight because I keep calling her and saying, "so I intended to be good today, buuuut..." There are definitely worse punishments than being fed salmon and spinach I guess

So, what drugs for a cold/cough are safe at 9 weeks? Google is less than helpful as it says everything from all things are evil in first tri to most things are okay. I don't want to call my OB over this....it seems petty, but I need to stop coughing. And, I'm really hoping the 2 cough drops yesterday (2 diff kinds) aren't going to ruin my baby. ugh.
It's my last day of work at my current job and I just sent out a goodbye email to my colleagues (most did not know I was leaving). It's bittersweet, I've grown to actually hate this job but I've worked with some of these people for 10 years and I also don't do well with change (anxiety).
If I weren't pregnant I'd be drinking a long series of mimosas starting right about now. Alas, I will have to substitute with lunch out. I have no idea what I want though.

I had terrible cold during late 2nd tri with DD2... I called to OB and they said cough drops were fine, and there was a certain Robitussin they recommended. I took both. However, if it's just a cough you may try honey and lemon, and I've also heard pineapple is a good cough suppressant. Feel better!

sandandsea, dextromethorphan is the cough suppressant in Robitussin and it's safe in pregnancy (category B) - most OBs recommend it. Just read the "active ingredients" list to make sure you're not getting one of the types of Robitussin that has other stuff in it, because some of them do. And your standard menthol/eucalyptus cough drops are fine too.

I have cup of "tea" now that's about 30% honey. Hoping this works. I also shut my office door so I don't bother everyone else. I wish I could just go home, but I have an important client meeting and I have to pick DS up after his party at school.

On an aside, I've been really digging salads lately, but last night I had an asian chicken salad with this amazing dressing and I told DH I really just wanted to drink the dressing. He replied that it was the baby talking!
virginiaorjohn, I laughed out loud when I read your post. What is it with pregnant gas?!?! So bad.
nitecheese and soultrane, NOW YOU HAVE PIZZA HUT BREADSTICKS STUCK IN MY HEAD. Omgawd they're my FAVORITE.
csat, reading your post was me a few years ago... I'd grown to absolutely hate it, but I loved my coworkers dearly and cried like a baby when I left, even though I desperately wanted out of there. Hope the rest of your day goes ok. Know that tomorrow you'll feel like a free woman!!
Sorry to everyone who's feeling sick today!
I dropped DS off at daycare for a few hours this morning, had good intentions of being productive and instead came home, ate a bagel/watched TV in bed, and napped for a couple hours til I had to pick him back up. I win (read: lose) at Friday.
Guys, the pizza and breadsticks were exactly what I needed today. I had to do my employee self-evaluation today which is always painful, so I spent the time munching on breadsticks while thinking about how awesome I can try to make myself sound.
Stupid question I know. I want to make roast beef sliders when our friends come over tonight. If I bake them in the oven at 350 that should take care of any possible listeria right?

Oh, I HATE self-evaluations!! Mine will be coming up in January. Can't wait.
