Hello, ladies,
I did a fair bit of lurking on the Multiples board on TB, but I don't think I ever did a proper introduction.
After 6 years of TTC, including several medicated cycles, 3 IUIs, and 2 IVF's (the first resulting in the early m/c of a singleton), I am now 27w2d pregnant with boy / girl twins. The first 20 weeks of pregnancy were super easy, and then at 20w1d - BAM - I woke up in a puddle of amniotic fluid. My OB confirmed PPROM, and sent me home on bed rest until I was closer to the age of viability. At 23w2d, I checked into the hospital, and have been on hospital bed rest ever since.
I am extremely grateful that both babies have made it this far. Baby girl is a super star, swimming around like Esther Williams in her ample fluid. Baby boy is not as lucky - he has no fluid pockets, but he is still producing fluid (which I can confirm by the daily leaking), he kicks and punches like a trooper, and he has kept up with his sister on growth so far.
If I can make it to 34 weeks without any emergency occurring, my MFM will induce me (or perform a c/s - depending on the situation). So, my 40w EDD was 29 April, but my goal right now is 18 March.
Yes, I am that cliche of a pregnant twin mother on bed rest. This is what I get after being so confident and cocky in the first half of my pregnancy. But the LOs and I are defying odds now, looking pretty stable 7 weeks post PPROM. So, hooray, I guess.
