I'm getting a blood draw for the MaterniT21 test today although I'm not sure why I should even bother with the sex determination part as a couple of family members informed me over Thanksgiving that they know I'm having another boy. Amazing.

My sister's MIL told me that since my niece didn't want me to pick her up (she is 14 months and is used to see me with my hair up and glasses; I had contacts on and my hair down) that I must be having a boy because she was scared of me.
Then my dad's wife said that because of the way I was walking & my blump shape, it MUST be a girl.
Good thing we are at about a 50% chance of it being either sex.

I'm eating turkey, gravy, stuffing, and mashed potatoes for lunch. I clearly didn't get enough at Thanksgiving because my aunt hosted so I didn't get any leftovers. I saw it at the cafeteria and I just HAD to do it! If only they had had pumpkin pie...

NT scan looked lovely and was so fun to see my little person in there kicking and punching! It's amazing that that can be happening inside you and not feel it! Also, I loved the new midwife with my practices
Now I have to wait a good 20 minutes in the lab for the bloodwork portion. Aye aye aye.....

Hahaha! Will they be smug if it is a boy?
Yes, I know this from their same reaction with DS who they also 'knew' was going to be a boy.
csat, this is one reason why I wanted to know the sex of baby, so that I could shut everyone down who just "knows" whether it's a boy or a girl. I must be a bitch, but have no patience for superstitions, especially ones that other people have concerning something happening in my body.

Had a great check up today at 10 weeks, babies were both growing right on track with great heartbeats! My next appointment/ultrasound isn't for another 4 weeks, that feels like forever away!
frecklesnbrains, that is certainly an added advantage of finding out the sex. This is just the start of the unsolicited advice which will come rolling in, one less thing to hear about!
PS - i'm jealous of those of you who enjoyed your mashed potatoes this holiday. All of mine were eh. Honestly, i'd rather have a big bowl of instant mashed potatoes with a ton of salt.

Okay quick question everyone: I feel like we've already had this conversation but I forgot it. I'm looking to take advantage of CyberMonday sales at Gap and Old Navy (40% off everything including jeans). What's everyone's preference for maternity pants? (Full panel, low panel, or side panel). And why?
My pants are feeling tight in the waist today for the first time... I know this is going to become an urgent need somewhat soon.
Got back from my appointment. I finally have confirmation of a baby. You know, other than the positive pee stick and unpleasant symptoms.
Midwife had trouble finding heartbeat with the doppler so she pulled out the transportable so no and took a quick check. Baby is doing great and I don't have to go back til January for my a/s

I have full panel. I gained a lot in my firat pregnancy and the others just weren't comfortable for very long for me.

I prefer the low panel or demi panel but I'm finding these harder and harder to find this time around. The full panel usually feels too constricting to me, often itchy. At the moment I have a full panel pair of jeans and two pairs of leggings and I fold the panel down, it works fine on the leggings but the jeans not so much. Some people like the full panel, especially later in pregnancy because it smooths things over and holds everything in.
I think it's a personal preference and also dependent on what stage of pregnancy you are in as well as the fit of the pant, so try on as many different types as you can!

I think it depends if you're a taller woman or shorter. Me, I'm shorter... so the low waist or low panel only works for me for the very beginning. Because I'm shorter - my bump ends up coming out further than on taller women who don't get as big-bellied. So, I think taller women who don't get SUPER gigantor bumps can get away with the low-panel for much much longer.
I prefer the full panel. The problem is that the full panel itself is still WAY to big for my bump, so it falls down and is exceptionally unpleasant for the time being.
So, what I'm rocking right now is a couple pair of jeggings from Target with little stretchy panels, but a normal fly. But I have the belly band over the waist to keep them in place.
I'm actually looking forward to a bigger bump - pants will be MUCH easier then!!

I really liked the low panel last pregnancy until the end and then I preferred full because I felt like I had better coverage especially at work. I was always worried my belly was going to be hanging out of something. I basically bought whatever was on sale so I mostly had full panel, but I did have a nice pair of black work pants that had the low panel that I loved for a long time (from the Gap)!

I like low panel for early-mid pregnancy then pull panel is a must for late pregnancy. I don't remember there even being side panel last time, but I've seen a lot of those when looking online?

Thanks everyone! It sounds like maybe starting with demi panels will be a good plan, but I may need to get some full panels later in pregnancy. I don't like the idea of extra bulk from folding down the full panel. I'm not petite at all, and this is my first pregnancy so I imagine it will be a while before I have a big bump. My mom (who has my exact build) said she didn't show noticeably until 24 weeks with both of her pregnancies.

I prefer the full panel. I had a pair of low panel ones when I was pregnant with DS and it kept bunching up under my belly and made me uncomfortable. I do have very large babies and my belly is usually massive when I'm pregnant so that's why I like the full panel.
I just placed my Old Navy order. I got two pair of full panel pants, a pair of full panel jeans, and a pair of low panel dress pants. It was overwhelming what to buy, but I got $410 worth of clothes for $255.
I know I'm late on the full/low panel thing, but I honestly really preferred wearing my pants unbuttoned with a Bella band for as long as possible. I know that won't work with all styles and work clothes though. After that, I liked the low and full panel pants equally.
I had a patient's mom ask me today when I'm due. I haven't told my staff yet and one of them was in the room. I just laughed it off and said I'm still hanging on to baby weight from my son. Quick thinking, but I think she felt kind of bad and now I think my staff members are on to my secret!

Yay for good NT Scans!!
frecklesnbrains I am a big fan of full panel. They're the most comfortable. Work pants, Loft is my favorite (but their shirts suck. They're like sacks and not flattering). Shirts I like motherhood the best.
So I'm just now catching up, I spent the morning and afternoon in the ER. I had to get two bags of fluids and was diagnosed with hyperemesis again. Pregnancy is rough. I'm so ready to feel better. Good news is they told me to stay home today and tomorrow so yay--no work!!
I got to see the baby, but the PA that did the ultrasound couldn't find the heartbeat which gave me a panic attack, but the doctor came in and found it right away. Everything looked good! And I've been able to eat a little bit today, so that's good too!

Yikes origamimommy! So sorry you ended up at the ER but I'm glad they were able to get you hydrated and that you got to see the little one. Hope the nausea subsides for you soon.
And whoa babyzebra, that was quick thinking and I hope that mom was properly ashamed for asking. I'll never understand why people think that's an ok question to ask, especially in a professional setting.
So, my entire dinner just came back up. I've been fairly nauseous all day and my stupid, good-for-nothing dog* pooped in the house when he had just been outside 15 minutes before. DH was giving DS a shower so I attempted to clean it up and well...it didn't end very well.
AND...he pooped on one of my boots. WTF dog?!?
*I love the dog, I just really don't like him very much right now.
