I really hope to get Christmas decorations and cards going this weekend. I skipped cards last year and I don't want to skip again, but haven't started yet so we'll see.
Friday!!! But it's going to be a long day. DH won't be home until after DD is in bed. And I need to take one of the cats to the vet today.... With the toddler in tow. Wish me luck.
I managed to get most of my decorations up this week though! And i think we're going to go get our tree tomorrow!

I ordered mine from shutterfly this week....but also with 2 calendars. My window to receive is the 10th-18th (because Canada). My cards might not make it out in time.

"working" today at the office.... we'll see what gets done.
Tomorrow we are taking DD shopping to fulfill the wish list of our Salvation Army kid and going to get our tree!! YAY!!
I haven't done any decorating yet, I'm always hesitant to do it before the 15th or so because I'm afraid I'm going to get tried of it. Lame, I know, but I want it to be special.
I am mostly done Christmas shopping - which is GREAT!! But now I'm in the habit of spending money and feel like I need to continue doing so. That's not healthy.
Just need to get through this work day!! I don't think DH and I have any plans tonight, but I really need to get some cleaning and laundry done.
Speaking of Christmas cards, that's another reason I'm so impatient about my US on Monday. I want to make sure the twins are a-ok before sending a card with a sort-of announcement on it. I may or may not put little Santa hats on them in an US picture for the card. FFFC? I think it'll be adorable. Don't care if people are creeped out that it's my ute.

I need to spend some quality time with Shutterfly. I want to make holiday cards but I also plan on making some albums with our wedding photos to give to my parents (as well as one for ourselves!). It's a major project and I've been putting it off... Fortunately it's a slow week at work though.
I made cookies to bring to a potluck at work today...DH ruined them by taking them out too early and plopping them on the cooling rack where they immediately melted through into a million pieces. All I asked him to do was help me pick out a plate! He made me upset & now I smell like cookies but am at work empty handed. (The D in DH stands for damn today.)
I guess I'll be running to the store for store bought goodies during my "free time" today.

GOmamab15, I'd happily eat those "ruined" cookies. In fact, whenever I bake cookies for an event I always purposefully make a few ugly ones that I'm just forced to eat...
frecklesnbrains I would have gladly ate all of them too but I was so upset I just left & now I know DH ate them and there will be none for me. Just having a little pity party over here. I know I'm irrational but I still smell like cookies and have none!

Haha, embrace the irrational emotions friend! You're pregnant - you're totally allowed to throw a pity party and whine and cry because you don't have cookies! Heck, I know I would!
GOmamab15, sorry about your cookies, the pity party is completely understandable especially given those pregnancy hormones. I vividly recall a very memorable breakdown during my last pregnancy over a cheeseburger I had ordered medium well but came to me rare.
Anyone interested in making cookies this weekend should try these, delicious, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and buttery. I ate 4 yesterday, it's still early today so no telling total count to be eaten for today. www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/brown-sugar-cookies-367569
Tonight I am baking cookies! It has been a while since I baked, so I am pretty excited. Tomorrow night we are host our annual kick off the season party where we are going to announce to our friends! Only a few know already, so the cat will officially be out of the bag. I'm excited and a bit nervous.
ILs wanted to take us out to dinner for DH's birthday but to a restaurant MIL wanted to go to not where DH would pick. Then they wanted us to pick them up, which is out of the way. DH said no, so now we are just going to get takeout and watch football. I'm much happier with this decision.
I'm spending way too much money at Target lately! I got a 20% off coupon on Black Friday, so I used it today to buy a train table for my son that he won't be getting for three months. I guess it was just because it, but it was too good to pass up! Think we are going to work on his big boy room and not let him go in it until we reveal the room on his birthday! So excited.

My mom's house got broken into yesterday I just finished talking with her. She and my stepdad had gone out for a few hours and when they came home they found a window broken and they stole 3 computers and 2 iPads. My stepdad's computer wasn't backed up so he's lost an enormous amount of work as well as personal stuff, which is heartbreaking. It's so shocking because it's such a peaceful neighborhood. Apparently the police said there have been multiple similar break-ins in the same area over the past 2 days, so they're looking for a single suspect or group of suspects.
I'm so sorry frecklesnbrains, how awful. Aside from the loss of physical items, which is bad enough, I imagine it feels like such a violation of personal space and safety.

Oh no! That is awful and scary! I'm so sorry! My house got broken into in college and it felt so creepy after knowing someone had gone through all my stuff. Hopefully the police catch the burglars.

I had my first OB appointment today, and IT WAS GREAT!
NT scan looked perfect; the tech said I got an A+! Got about 14 gallons of blood drawn, met with my favorite doctor who was just overjoyed to see us (she was with us during our last loss) and got lots of sweet little profile pics of our babe. It's finally starting to feel real. My doc offered for us to come back in two weeks for a fetal heart tones check just for peace of mind before the holidays. Love, love her. Wish I could just see her vs. rotating through everyone in the practice. This is the very best way to end what's been the hardest year of my life so far. So thankful.
frecklesnbrains I'm sorry about your parents loss. That's really horrible, especially this time of year. I had a computer stolen from me once and I was devastated. It was a practically new MacBook. My mom saved up to buy it for me and was so excited to have been able to give it to me, only for someone to steal it within two months of me getting it. DH and I just recently discussed getting an alarm system because burglaries are a real concern for us. It sucks to have to expend the money for it, but some people in the world are creeps.
