I don't have an answer to quiet the brain, but wanted to send hugs. Each pregnancy is different and a change in symptoms is not indicative of a healthy pregnancy. Or at least that's what I tell myself.

I try as much as I can do do other things to keep my mind busy. Projects around the house, plans with family, mindless movies & TV shows with DH. Anything to occupy my brain.
Me (37) + DH (39) BFP #1: DS born July 2011 BFPs #2,3,4,5: Four losses from Nov 2013-Nov 2014. Yeah, that sucked. BFP #6: 1/5/15 - Rainbow baby boy born 9/16/15
I wish I knew how to make my brain be quiet. The early weeks of PgAL are so hard- and sometimes the later weeks are just as hard. Symptoms come & go and really mess with your head. I went from wishing so much that I would stop feeling sick to being a nervous wreck if I didn't feel sick. Like PPs have said, I tried to keep busy and almost not think about being pregnant. Easier said than done. Reading a book always helps because it's hard to think about anything else while your involved in some good reading. The mantras are great to read and repeat. They got me through some tough days.

I second the doppler suggestion. I was hesitant at first because of "what if I cant find the HB, I'll flip out". The first few times I tried it, I didn't find it. So I waited a few days and tried again, eventually I got the hang of it. I only had 1 "scare" and tried again an hour later and found it. Personally, having the doppler put me so much more at ease.

Just try and take it one day at a time. Every pregnancy is different. My first, I had strong symptoms but miscarried. This pregnancy I have had very mild symptoms. ((Hugs))
