We're watching Rudolph! I have it on DVD so DD and I watch it together. Then we're going to the local Schnuck's for Story time with Santa. I'm hoping it goes okay.
I have had a dull, but constant headache since Monday. So aggravating. Have to go to a family Christmas in a little while. Not really looking forward to it.
We're heading to a Christmas village-type place today to see the decorations and to let DS pick out his yearly ornament. We may drive around tonight to look at Christmas lights.
I have to find the motivation to get dressed though first. I'm sitting here in maternity pants and a bra at the moment. DH just walked by and was like "ummmm, ok...." I'm sure I look lovely!
We have to do laundry and pack for our two week Christmas trip to visit our families (3 states every year). Santa has to go to target and wrap gifts. And we may have to go to the grocery store if we can't make it a week off of the fridge and pantry. We should probably do DSs home bday gifts tomorrow to avoid having to do it on a weeknight and separate it from Christmas that we will do when we get back. Apparently I need to discuss with DH who isn't awake at 6am today like lucky me.
I went to Ross last night and found maternity jeans for $12. I also got a tank for $5 and flannel for $12. So I have a cute casual maternity outfit to wear for $30!! I also tried on a bunch of other things that were awful.

Another random. I don't like shirts that advertise you are pregnant. Like "baby on board" or "mom to be" or "baby boy" on the stomach of a maternity shirt. I think it's weird. And they had a lot of them last night.

I mostly agree with this because a lot of them just aren't funny. The only maternity shirt like that I would consider buying is one that says Ice Ice Baby, because that's hilarious.
I have a lot of goals for the day. Possibly too many. I need to clean out my closet and get rid of some old clothes that I never wear. I also wanted to go look at flooring with my mom and have lunch with family. We will see how many of these things I actually accomplish.

My mom and I went maternity clothes shopping last night and we were joking about getting the glitter encrusted "due in June" tank top. It was hot pink, how can you say no to that? Unless I am getting pants and skirts, I don't think I'll bother with maternity stores. I feel like flowy, long tops from a regular store will work just fine for most, if not all of pregnancy. The maternity stuff is so marked up and doesn't seem made to last.

This... Except for maternity jeans. I still need to exchange mine for a smaller size but I literally can't wear any of my pre-preg jeans anymore!
Sick kiddo over here so we'll be boring (and tired) this weekend. Let me live vicariously through your fun plans
My fun plans include cleaning out our small office which has gotten overrun with piles of junk and papers and crap. Then I plan to blow my Christmas budget in one fell swoop ordering shit on the internets because I seriously cannot be bothered to go out Christmas shopping in person.
I am just getting a bit of work done today. I haven't said anything on here yet, but I am in the process of opening my own practice. It should hopefully be open some time next year in the fall or winter. Even though I mostly work for myself now in a lot of ways, I do not own the practice I work for. That will change soon, but it's just so much work to get everything in place. It also doesn't help that I've been working 12 hours a day, so there's no time to work on my own stuff. I guess that's what weekends are for!
I'm 3lbs heavier than I was a week ago. Did not need to see that first thing this morning.
No set plans today. I'd like to do something fun with DS but I feel like I'm glorifying possible ideas and the reality will include a lot more whining and lack of cooperation than I'm willing to put up with this morning.
DS just told our cat to be quiet because 'my mom's taking a nap'.
I had tentative plans to go to the beach but I can't get DH out of bed this morning. It's freezing out and so the warm bed is even more alluring than normal. We have bacon and all the awesome breakfast foods so I can't wait for that. But I am waiting because I want to eat with DH.
Later I need to inventory my Xmas gifts for my niece and nephew and decide what to get my Secret Santa. Then maybe think about Xmas cards. Better late than never?

I should probably do my online Christmas shopping. And finally order my friend's baby shower present (the shower was last weekend). And I have some boring work stuff that I HAVE to do this weekend. And laundry. And cleaning. Instead I'm laying on the couch wasting time on my phone. I need an intervention
I just went shopping and got a pair of maternity jeans for $4 from old navy. I also just ate an entire bag of flaming hot Cheetos. I know I'm going to regret it when I poop flames but they were delicious. I had to eat the whole bag because they were so hot, in order to make it less hot you have to eat more. And then they were gone.
I'm working on a snapfish calendar for my mil. She makes me do it every year, she pays for it then says it's a gift from her when really I'm the one who spent 10+ hours collecting photos, organizing the thing. I've done it for the past 7 years so I'm kinda over it, but maybe one year I'll say no I'm not making your gift for you!
packerfan4life, sorry about having a sick kids, that's always hard! Hope you get extra snuggles.
sandandsea, Your post inspired me to see if there was a maternity section at TJMaxx when I was there today, but I didn't find anything. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed searching through the racks though.
vivela, I remember thinking that and then being amazing how much my stomach grew near the end (and I was still relatively small for full term). I had a few maternity shirts my Mom gave me and I was thinking, "Uh, I don't think I'm ever going to wear that." Turns out it was all that fit me at the end and even my loosest flowy shirts wouldn't fit the basketball under my shirt, ha! Anyways, definitely probably better to wait until the end and just see what you need.
babyzebra, That's huge, you're amazing! Will you have to staff your entire office by yourself if you open up your own practice, or can you hire a staffing agency to help you with that? Sounds like a lot of work, nice that you don't have plans to open until a few months after you get back from leave! Maybe it will be a perfect transition!
Graduation went great last night! I was feeling so hungry and thirsty during the ceremony because I hadn't had much water, in fear that I'd have to pee during the ceremony. Anyways, I was so glad when it was over and so tired of standing up in one place for so long being lined up, etc. I'm glad I walked so I could get the pictures.
I wanted to take a picture of DS wearing his new "big brother" shirt I just got in the mail with some pink balloons, but I went to Party City and they said the line was so long it'd take an hour to blow up 5 balloons for me. Um, no thank you. Looks like we might be putting off announcing for a few more weeks!
Tonight we have a Christmas party and my grandparents are babysitting. This morning we had a neighbor and her son come over for a play date. He is 13 months old and my son is 20 months, so my DS is in that stage where he has a really hard time sharing but doesn't get the concept yet. Anyways, it was kind of a disaster of a play date. She kept correcting my DS (in front of me!) and telling him to share, which I was obviously doing my best to do, but your kid needs to share too, even if he doesn't cry about it yet like mine does! Bleh, anyways, I like her a lot but when she left I was feeling totally judged.
txmommy14 I'm so glad your graduation went well! Have fun at your party tonight! And lol at the other mom telling your DS to share. All you've got to do is tell them to share, and they'll do it, right??
As for my practice, I'm going to staff it all myself. I do have quite a few professionals helping me out in lots of areas (construction, marketing, etc), but picking the right staff is something I want to do on my own. I'm hoping the timing will work out well!
PSA for anyone buying gifts for Disney fans: The Disney store has some pretty great deals this weekend - dress up costumes are 40% off and a lot of their toys are buy one get one 50%. In one afternoon of online shopping, my nieces gifts are all on their way and I didn't have to spend an obscene amount of money!
Also, entering the code "magical" gets you an extra 25% and free shipping!
Dh had a plan. He would take a nap for an hour, and then I would get him up. The flaw in his plan was assuming the tired pregnant lady wouldn't come up fifteen minutes later and crawl into bed and then sleep for two and a half hours. So dinner will be a little late.

sandandsea, on the topic of maternity shirts, I worked at the mall in college and I still remember this very pregnant girl came in wearing a shirt that said "I love my baby but the daddy is an asshole" and I thought, WTAF?? Why would anyone wear that? And since then I am not a fan of shirts with words in general. Some exceptions, but not many.
Kevinmac, DH and I were on a date night a few months ago and it must've been homecoming or something because there were tons of high schoolers in formal dress. DH's face was priceless. He just kept saying, "If this one is a girl there is no way she is wearing a dress that short, that young. He kept talking about what his dates in high school wore, what his sister wore, etc etc and it wasn't "that long ago". It was kind of funny how up in arms he was about it, but some of them looked like they belonged in Jennifer Lopez video circa 2005, and not on a high schooler.

We went to the mall tonight to get our annual ornament and the line for Santa was really short. DS asked if he could meet Santa again, and we said yes, and HE SAT ON HIS LAP!! I was in shock because when he met Santa last weekend, he said it was "too weird" to sit on his lap, but he climbed right up there! He was so proud of himself after seeing the other kids do it too. It was so cute.
It is so fun having an older toddler at Christmas. His excitement is killing me! I can't wait until he's older and gets the full meaning, the spirit of giving, and all of that. So excited!
