Hi ladies! I'm excited to be here and a bit terrified, so bear with me.
****prior losses mentioned****
All my my info is in my siggy, but a "brief" recap. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 29 after we'd been trying for more than a year. It took 6 months to get into an RE, we had a cp with our second iui. Then, shockingly (bc, you know we'd never managed in two years at that point) we got pregnant in my break cycle post cp. Shocked doesn't describe it. But my betas didn't double right, but they said things were fine, yada yada, mmc discovered at 10 weeks. At that point, I was terrified of getting pregnant without medical assistance since we later found it was a triploidy pregnancy, and they suspected it was because I had ovulated so late (cd31). A lot more iuis, and then we broke up with our RE due to poor care (trust me, bad...).
Went to new RE who deemed me not scary (last RE had said we had less than 40% chance of IVF working in any respect) and said I looked like a perfect candidate for IVF (what up, PCOSers). But, oddly, my amh is a bit low for my age and I didn't get the dozens of eggs he anticipated, but did have a much higher fertilization rate (100%). We did IVF in August (here's looking at you Tropical Ovaries!). We ended up with a total of 7 embryos, did an eSET and froze 6.
Got another bfp, and I had my highest beta to that point, but the numbers didn't double correctly and I knew it wasn't going to work. New RE said things would be fine, no hb was found at 1st u/s, but waited on a d&c until more than a month later because we were battling insurance and they needed confirmation, etc. That pregnancy came back as a tetraploidy (with 2 sets of chromosomes from me and 2 from DH, which should not happen with ICSI). New RE had never seen this, entire practice (which has been around for 30 years) hadn't seen it. RE went to international conference, spoke to top RE's from other states, geneticists, etc, who also had never seen this. (Cue me sitting in the fetal position rocking back and forth). It took 2+ months for my betas to drop below 5.
******end of mention of losses******
So, this time, we transferred 2 6dt (AB) and for the first time ever, my betas have doubled correctly. First was 200, second was 377 (different lab, RE told me to chill) and my third was 1045. (All 48 hours apart.). So, 1st u/s is on 2/11 (twinsies sewfie2) and I'm refusing to think anything is wrong (or trying really really really hard not to). So, please ignore the random bouts of panic, but I'm really thrilled to be here.
Other things about me: I'm a teacher (yes, summers are as nice as you think, and yes, I love my kids dearly), I'm really good at googling (honest, if they gave PhDs in googling, I'd have one), I'm a news junkie, and I have 3 cats (the 3rd was an unexpected rescue...).
And if you made it through my intro you deserve these
