Well I had my second OB appointment today after giving an insane amount of blood two weeks ago for a recurrent loss panel. He did a scan and thankfully everything is looking great at ten weeks but he said I have a minor protein S deficiency. I didn't really get much info about it other then to take baby aspirin every day to hope fully avoid another miscarriage/preterm birth/ IUGR. I tried researching but most of the sites are way to science-y for me. Any of you ladies have experience with it?

Let me dumb it down for you. Protein S (also known as S-Protein) is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein synthesized in the endothelium. In the circulation, Protein S exists in two forms: a free form and a complex form bound to complement protein C4b-binding protein (C4BP). In humans, protein S is encoded by the PROS1 gene.
I am kidding. I was curious and Googled it. I'm still in the dark. Hang in there!
I have a protein C deficiency and I was told that is a protein in your blood to help it from clotting too much. If you don't make enough, then you could be more prone to blood clots. I think these proteins work together in your blood, so your blood issue could be the same as mine. I hope this helps. It's kind of a bummer that your doc didn't tell you more about what your results mean.
